Bright Eyes are like, the worst of the worst.
:p
no ....just no |
Bright Eyes is nationally known as the Bob Dylan of our generation. Don't believe me? It was in Newsweek, my friend, and I read Newsweek just about every week.
:thumb: -Gav |
Bright Eyes is nothing like Bob Dylan. I listened to their cd just to compare.
|
its our equivalent, its one guy who writes every aspect of his music.
its not a bob dylan cover band. |
who's bright eyes?
|
But Bright Eyes makes people want to cry and Bob Dylan made them want to smile.
|
But Bright Eyes makes people want to cry and Bob Dylan made them want to smile.
you listen to metal, you cant say we arent a more angst driven generation than in previous years. |
Except Bob Dylan owns us all.
|
I said Bright Eyes is LIKE Bob Dylan in light of his song writing.
And the fucking point if emo is not to fucking make people cry. Take your fucking heads out of your asses, you musical bigots. Grow the fuck up. :thumb: -Gav |

Hi mxicans

BV, I hate to do this to someone I like and respect as much as you, but:
:p Come on, man. I thought we were for musical openmindedness. Let's end the emo discussion here. :thumb: -Gav |

hey watch it gav's my physics buddy  |
I didn't even say anything about emo! I was talking about Bright Eyes. All the songs I heard were mellow and had a sad feeling, most of Bob Dylans songs have an upbeat happy feeling. I didn't even say anything bad about Bright Eyes!
|
Well, I hate to leave so quickly but I have to .
Bye |

ROT! BV knows what it's all about. :thumb:
If I insulted metal, BV would be all over me like ugly on an ape. But LS and I have a discussion on emo, we're insulted. I love how we talk about how we're very openminded about music, but when someone mentions emo, the flaming begins. And maybe I am taking it too personally, but I really like "emo." It's not just guys whining. Listen to it. It's much more than that. It's music. MUSIC. Most emo bands don't even sing "Boo hoo my girlfriend dumped me." If you don't listen to it, then don't talk about it. :thumb: -Gav |

You said:
But Bright Eyes makes people want to cry...
Don't play ignorant, man. :p I know you know Bright Eyes and emo and made the assumption. :p I still love you, BV. :thumb: -Gav |
"Boo hoo my girlfriend dumped me." I
:thumb: -Gav
yeah but the couple of bandsthat do do that ruin it and give it a bad name. |
guys....what are some good jaco lines to learn besides chromatic fantasy, teen town, and donna lee??????
Havona, one of my favorites. The Chicken is another favorite. :thumb: -Gav |
yeah but the couple of bandsthat do do that ruin it and give it a bad name.
Yeah, but that's with every genre. Every genre has stereotypes that people play on. :thumb: -Gav |
All I did was state my opinion on Bright Eyes.
Anyway, I've heard emo bands and I do not like the genre. |
hmm heres some lyrics that are just as good as the ones space man posted
You're out in left field, and lacking interest You fight the boredom but it makes no difference Your mental health kid, that's what's in question Keep acting obscure, we'll keep them guessing The moment ideas are conceived, They'll be out of touch, obsolete, They're faking champions hand picked, And all the fights have been fixed, You wake to suffer through the day, Trade a dream for the pay, Well here's the fact I hope it sticks, You're just alive out of habit From Autumn to Ashes " Alive out of habit" |
thanks gav.....i'll check those out.
|
I'm no longer participating in the "emo" conversation. I don't want an argument, and since I like all of you in here (except Spaceman...;)), I'm ending it on my side now.
:thumb: -Gav |
Yeah, but that's with every genre. Every genre has stereotypes that people play on.
:thumb: -Gav
metal=devil worship emo=my girlfriend dumped me punk=i hate the world right thats how i look at music......................just kidding |
lol at irish
|
If I hadn't heard the cd, I wouldn't say it makes people want to cry. It has a sad feeling to it, I don't know what else I'm supposed to say.
|
thanks gav.....i'll check those out.
No problem, my friend. :D :thumb: -Gav |
i own you all i, all by myself, have learned the launguage of Greg Parrish from nuclear rabbit. and i can now acually tell what he's saying.!
bowling for midgets- nuclear rabbit Roly-Poly dwarves Rolling all around, knocking over pins, it's a New York sin Roly-poly dwarves Jobless by the hordes, Little people longing to be thrown, unemployed, somewhat annoyed Sorry little dwarves Steroid pumping men Throw him as far as you can Soaring through the air No other sport compares.. Suspended by a hook Awaiting to be flung, mighty warrior throws them one by one Grubby hobbit bum Surely a sight to behold, they look quite bold Sorry little dwarves Balded bearded athlete Stubby fingers, shrunken feat This sport would not be known If they were fully grown Infamous New York game A midget put to shame Dr. Ruth agrees, "This sport should not be ceased" Toss a little man, Rebounding on the floor like a loony-goony bird you can't ignore Roly-poly can-can Enjoy it while you can, This midget sport will not expand, not it's permanently banned Sorry, little dwarves The future it looks grim Dwarf tossing Tiny Tim Illegal in fifty states Unfortunate midget traits SORRY, LITTLE DWARVES! |
Yeah, but that's with every genre. Every genre has stereotypes that people play on.
:thumb: -Gav
Like how metal is about being evil and satan and murder and crap. Sure, some bands are like that, and some of those bands are awesome. On the other hand, bands like that that suck, and I know a lot metalheads don't like it when I say this.... Slayer. At least it's funny that they only do it as a gimmick and don't actually believe their lyrics, it's just for fun. |
