It's the Shelob's Lair of MX.
RIVA, where have you been?! |
Wow that concert fucking rocked.
Good. What did they play? |
So I was playing guitar, and my roommate came back so, being nice, I went off amp, but then the douche took off his headphones and started using his speakers so now I'm playing acoustic. I hate it when he pulls this crap.

It'd make me the bigger douche, and it's really loud so he couldn't listen on headphones if he wanted to. |

Ah yes... being mature. What a glorious concept... well Zep, you win in the end... for being an awesome guy. |
Good.
What did they play?
Started with Meat abstract (Didn't play that last time) Turn Gimme Back my Brain (Didn't play that last time) Diane ! (Guitar version, which was surprisingly good, they had to since Martin left) They didn't play that last time Die laughing Stories (Didn't play that last time) He's not that kinda girl (Dito) Nowhere Screamager Isolation If it kills me Rust Rise up Die like a Motherfucker Polar Bear Rock you monkeys Knives Teethgrinder Neck Freak (Also new, I think) Church of Noise Potato Junkie That's it, I think. :) Overall, the setlist was much more varied than last time, songs of every CD, this time. And the show was better, I think. Too bad that they didn't play Long Distance though, they played that last time. But certainly didn't spoil it, this was a better gig, plus Andy said that Vin Diesel is a faggot. |
Well, my shower and shave went very well. I also got a call from my girl, which cheered me up no end. My face is on fire, from the shaving lotion, but meh.
So now it comes to breakfast. See you shortly. I leave you with an image of a 6'2" Aussie with hobbit feet in the shower. |

When I saw them, they opened with Potato Junkie, which I thought was a good way to start. Seems kind of odd finishing with it. |
Okay, I lied. I only did one review, but I think it's thorough (a)

Time to head to Uni. The fact that only two posts made it through in the time it took me to eat, get dressed and wash the dishes is somewhat astounding.
Off to take the bin out, hang up some clothes, and fly. Fly, people, fly. |

I kinda forgot what they ended with, I think Knives. But I'm not sure. |

I would feel cheated if I attended that concert ! |
What band is this?

Meh, they played it last time, so I can't complain. JPJ: Therapy? |
/me reports punk and a7x thread in here due to laziness
So I finally gave up and just put in headphones till he leaves again...I should sabotage his speakers or something. Oh yes, I thought this up in mechanics: Desire never dies, it just fades to flames quenched by the reality of failure, and debris scattered over desolate plains of the shattered dreams that once were. Like, dislike? |
JPJ: Therapy?
Ah, that would explain why I didn't know any of the songs. |

123 I just remember reading some posted lyrics and being put off by the emoness :p |
Sup guys.
|
hey
so what's everyone think about punk musicians, we're seeming to ram this joemarsh guy down his throat and i'm curious what people think of new punk and old punk musicians the old ones were good, the new ones are repetitive |
Old and new punk is great. Depending on what you think is new punk versus old.
|
The old ones were often repetitive too, but they were good. Not to say all new punk is bad, but you get what I mean.
|
I like both.
EDIT: I have a joint next to me, to smoke or not to smoke? Judging by the smell, there's isn't much tobacco in it. |
i was listening to some punk earlier and some of the guitar work isn't as bad (hell it's better than some nirvana i've heard). the chords get a little repetitve (as does metal) and the solos are often pretty weak (like most green day ones) but i think US Bombs has some good guitar

Ironically:

Punk really isn't about the techincality of the song, so really you're going to be very disapointed if you expect there to be a high level of excellence when it comes to instruments...
History was pretty interesting today. Part of the prof's lecture was about rock and roll and the Beat generation of the 1950's.
He mentioned Chuck Berry, who happens to be in the tiebreaker poll for the greatest guitarist contest thing.
It's true. |
