It's just great to listen to...it's not as enraged and pissed off as their older stuff (especially Hatecrew)...but I enjoy the mellow side that CoB is showing..

No chance this is their downfall. They came up with something completely new, and there are still plenty of people who love it. They're just overshadowed by those people claiming that it isn't CoB anymore.

I think the new stuff is catchier than their old, and therefore easier to listen to. They still have those great melodic moments and insane solos with too much keyboard (if there is a such thing as "too much keyboard"). It's heavier and more riff-based, but they managed to do something new without really dumbing down. I love it it. I really don't see why many hate it so much.

Oh yeah, it defenitely is catchy, especially "In Your Face"...I agree with you, man, the solos are still top-notch (and some have gotten a little bluesy :eek: ) the keyboards are great...gives a good vibe to the music. The riffs aren't intense or anything, but they stil lgrab your attention and make you bang your head.

Yep, that's what I love. It's damn catchy and more headbangable than previous work. Still very impressive musically, and the keyboards that CoB signature feel on songs like Living Dead Beat. Great stuff.

I think one reason why I got bored of that album quickly is all the songs start the same way. They all start with a C chord, and are all based around C...

I mean, a few tracks like that isn't bad, but base an entire album around it, and it's boring as hell.

Wrath Within and Black Widow don't interest me as much as songs like Warheart and Downfall, a couple of my favorites. :)

Is that really it? That seems like such a small, subtle detail. I find it hard to belive that an entire album would bore you because of the note many of the songs start on. Most of them were part of a larger riff anyway, and the drums and keys made each one completely different.

I have a theory that CGCFAD tuning automatically entices the listener :lol:

Its not the fact that they all start around the same note, its the fact that all the songs are structured the same. All based in C, and they all sorta follow the same pattern.

I LOVE using CGCFAD (quite fun to bang out riffs with), but you have to switch it up a bit sometimes.

I think as soon as you go into drop D style tuning, it just automatically makes you play chugga chugga low powerchords all the time and add in other chords from Gmin in, it's so boring to listen to.

Well, its not always bad to get more chugga-chugga. If COB kept writing epic, keyboard driven riffs they would get old and boring, much moreso than their new chugga riffs are.

Not neccesarily. There really aren't as many bands that go "chugga chugga" as people think. You're just listening to the wrong stuff.

I wish people would realize that Drop Tunings doesn't = anything but more possibilities. I could play most standard songs while in C.

I know drop tuning doesn't mean crap but pretty much everything I've heard is like that. I like LoG are one of the creative bands with drop tuning.
