Ahab are phenomenal.

They need a new record badly.

**** you Kyle.

Slaapkamers 12-02-2007 05:07 PM

ahab have good things but theyre kind of boring

ATM 12-02-2007 05:08 PM

Winter is the best time for doom.
ahab have good things but theyre kind of boring
This. I never got through the whole album in one listening.

publicastration 12-02-2007 05:51 PM

The first 3 songs are amazing. I think the last two are actually from their demo/ep thing.

Shattered_Future 12-02-2007 06:01 PM

I can't listen to Ahab for more than 2 songs...

Angmar 12-02-2007 06:03 PM

I can listen to the whole thing all the way through just fine...

Slaapkamers 12-02-2007 06:10 PM

the pacific is the best song
I can't listen to Ahab for more than 2 songs...
Me too. Problem is 2 songs is 700 minutes later.

Nostalgia 12-02-2007 06:33 PM

You listen to the 3 or so albums I sent you Lee?!

pate 12-02-2007 06:40 PM

The Loss and ...other one?

Yes, Loss was good, and other one wasn't as good.

And I haven't downloaded Wothan yet.

What the hell was that other one?

ATM 12-02-2007 06:44 PM

I want to hear some Worship. You got a link handy, Austin?

dUSK 12-02-2007 06:48 PM
And I haven't downloaded Wothan yet.
Heh, I have the Wothan sitting on my desktop from when Austin posted it. Still haven't listened to it though. Kind of lost interest in it when I found out it was a high recommendation or something.

EDIT: I just found a link to the Worship/Loss split. Sexcellent.

Rickabobaloey 12-02-2007 10:16 PM

OM Pilgrimage is fantastic. Jumps into the top 5 albums of 2007 easily. It's got such an amazing atmosphere that's different from anything I've heard before in the genre. It's almost got an otherworldly feel, and the contrast between the soft vocals and the gloomy music creates a sort of 'inner peace' feeling that erupts from chaos. Make sense to anyone else? This is going to be an album I listen to for a very long time to come.

Sun O))) Black One is very intense, and haunting sounding. I enjoyed it, and it's definitely worth another listen but it may be too dark for me.

Angmar 12-02-2007 10:25 PM

Sunn O))) would be just a bit better if they got someone besides fucking maelfic to do vocals, and only a bit better.

Rickabobaloey 12-02-2007 10:29 PM

I'm not sure who maelfic is (well besides being the bands singer), as I'm still pretty new to this genre and its bands.

Angmar 12-02-2007 11:05 PM

Maelfic is Xasthurs' 1 man member, I despise his vocals.

**** dude, send that please.

Angmar 12-03-2007 12:17 AM

Austin, remember the days when you were the resident Funeral Doom hater? :p

dUSK 12-03-2007 12:18 AM

Check your last.fm pm's.

Review that Ten Horned Beast I sent you.
I'll give it a few more listens and then I'll attempt to review it!

gmoneyguy 12-03-2007 12:33 PM

I wish my dad was still moving to Germany, so I could go to that.

the2stranger 12-03-2007 12:35 PM

Looking at the attendees list on last.fm there are a lot of people coming from abroad.
Should be interesting meeting doomsters from all over the world.

gmoneyguy 12-03-2007 12:37 PM

If I wasn't saving for school, I would go on my own.

WTF Trouble is still around?

pate 12-03-2007 01:18 PM

Trouble is going strong, and released a kickass album this year.

Txus 12-03-2007 01:24 PM

**** you petey! **** YOU

Tyr 12-03-2007 01:26 PM

It would be worth it for Isis, Jesu and Boris alone. Most of the others, I haven't heard.
