So I checked this album out, I really like it. It's good stuff. One of the better albums I've heard so far this year. Really good fun power pop type stuff.

Also, I've been digging Aphex Twin today.

Oh yeah, definitely. They've got some other good ones, but Everlong is easily the best.

For The Mathematics
Math-rock.
Imagine if At The Drive-In and the Mars Volta (I know, they're half the same people) had babies that looked nothing like them. They have one 7-song cd, The New Science. It is tré good. I think they're from Ottawa.
Good Songs:redlightexitsignpastiche
Delay The Fiasco
Tuesday's Fire

frans 06-05-2005 02:52 PM

Sounds interesting. I bet it's really pretentious and a lot of people will absolutely hate it, so I would have to be careful when telling someone that I listen to them so they don't roll their eyes back into their sockets with sarcastic excitement.

Little Man being Erased 06-05-2005 04:01 PM

The new White Stripes album is very good.

Also listening to Reel Big Fish - Why Do They Rock So Hard? lately.

Little Man being Erased 06-05-2005 06:24 PM

I have just been blown away.

I downloaded a few Devin Davis songs from his website after seeing him mentioned here and on allmusic. He is excellent.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 06-06-2005 01:21 AM

Anyway, today was an Elliott Smith and Pixies day for me.

I also listened to the VAST album somebody put up in the YSI thread. Put it this way - if The Downward Spiral is The Matrix, VAST's albums are the sequels.

3rdplanet 06-06-2005 04:23 PM

Time Lapse Consortium have just made themselves known to me, absolute genius.

Zappa 06-06-2005 04:29 PM

Today I listened to a whole lot of Elliott myself. But I don't even bother to post that anymore, because lately I've been listening to him constantly.

Bartender 06-06-2005 05:10 PM

I've not really been listening to anything new/noteworthy lately either, so my posting here's been kept to something of a minimum. Or at least it seems so to me.

Incidentally, Iai, did you call yourself Iai for any particular reason?

Iai 06-06-2005 05:53 PM
Incidentally, Iai, did you call yourself Iai for any particular reason?
Not really. When I first got the internet I went by the name Sephiroth, which I quickly found out was a pretty easy way to have the piss ripped out of you, so I changed it. Iai was basically the first thing I came across that sounded half-decent. I know it's another reference to Final Fantasy, but I forget exactly what.

Whatever it is, I've been registered as Iai on every site I've been on for maybe 3 years now. I just like having the same name on every site.
