I want to get a band together to play early Grateful Dead tracks. But no ones into it.
:(
It's called 30-60 year olds. Grow about a foot, grow a beard and join them. I jam with my dad's friend. He's about 45. He's into blues and some hard rock.

Badmoon 09-07-2004 08:21 PM

A lot of cats ( I just needed to say that) at my school wear tie dyed shirts, just because they're tie dyed. So I'll see a lot of people wearing Grateful Dead shirts, Other One shirts (Off shoot of the Dead), ect...

Well, I'm off to bed. Eyes on fire.

That'd be a bit weird. I figure I have good persuasion skills. So, I'll just talk some kid into listening to them. ;)

BludgeonySteve 09-07-2004 08:22 PM

^sounds good.

Nighty night. :)

RockAndRoll 09-07-2004 08:24 PM
 That'd be nuts!

To Rocknroll
We shall do it some day. We'll have a band. I don't know anyone who would do dead with me, instead they all suggest AC/DC and such. :(

One day we shall be in a band (we'll need a name, maybe bad roll or something?).Any bassists here?

Badmoon 09-07-2004 08:25 PM

We will be called "Smell my Mule". I made that up a few months ago.

Fine by me.
I think a neat Idea would be a variation band, A mix between a cover band and an original band, use other bands songs/Ideas, but change them into your own. But it's a bad Idea to limit yourself to only doing covers/originals/variations.You don't happen to do vocals though do you?

Badmoon 09-07-2004 08:30 PM

Not at the moment. I'm a guitar and banjoist.

Gtg see ya later :)

RockAndRoll 09-07-2004 08:32 PM

well than that's at least two more members we might want. But they can come later, we can start out just the two of us at any rate. See ya :).

BludgeonySteve 09-07-2004 08:38 PM

I have 1 guitarist (besides myself) and one bassist for my blues/hard rock band. I now need a singer and a drummererer. A nd maybe a keyboard play. If we could get 2 of the 3 we need in one that would zwn +1

Honestly, my band kind of had that idea. We named ourselves "Spectrum" because we like to play pretty much anything we can, almost no matter what genre. Here are the major influences of the players (rotation changes):

Mike: Guitar and Piano like Coldplay... and Classic Rock
Sam: Guitar like Three Doors Down
Stu: Bass like all that is Jazz
James: Drums like Linkin Park... and stuff
Jon: Drums like Slipknot... and stuff
Adam: Likes the Crystal Method
Mike: Writes like alt rock British bands
Sam: Writes like American pop-punk/alt rock.
Mike: Admires DMB and Phish and creative music.
Mike: Vocals like Chris Martin
Sam: Vocals like, well, modern American rock
James: Vocals like... well, we don't know yet.
Stu: Likes, basically, Jazz and Classic Rock
Shawn: Sings in Japanese... what a voice

Try throwing that all together. What have we done?

We have created a monster.

-Mike

New avatar.

HOT!

MalcolmYoungRock 09-07-2004 09:12 PM

I liked your frizzy hair man avatar better.

This guy I know, he put pickups in his banjo, so it was an "electrical banjo"

Then he brought out the wah and the distortion pedal..

I had fun lets put it that way. :D

Badmoon 09-07-2004 09:26 PM

What kind of pickups?

MalcolmYoungRock 09-07-2004 09:27 PM

They looked like triple coils..

I can't remember. It was at 4th of July... and someone spiked the punch.

Just kidding. But I think they were triple coils, im not exactly sure though.

Badmoon 09-07-2004 09:30 PM

:p

Cause if they were Hums, he stole my idea. Though the banjo would have too much bass, and would be very much more hollow sounding, so...

MalcolmYoungRock 09-07-2004 09:32 PM

Eh, I'm sure a lot of people put pick ups in their banjo....

ok maybe not..

but still..

Badmoon 09-07-2004 09:35 PM

Well, for one adding pickups isn't really part of the initial procedure for making a acoustic banjo electric. And well, at these shops lipstick like pickups would be a lot more common.

MalcolmYoungRock 09-07-2004 09:36 PM

I have a question badmoon. There was a tuning peg in the middle of the neck of the banjo... is that a banjo-ish thing or did he add it?

Badmoon 09-07-2004 09:50 PM

That's banjoish, extremely common x50

MalcolmYoungRock 09-07-2004 10:38 PM

Ok, thanks...

Creedence Clearwater 09-07-2004 10:57 PM

I have always played to learn banjo if I ever get good at guitar.......

MalcolmYoungRock 09-08-2004 09:34 AM

You have always wanted to learn banjo if you ever get good at guitar??

Ok just checking.

lunch998 09-08-2004 01:06 PM

Finally back from being banned.

Hey Badmoon/Rockandroll let me be in your band. I play drums so you can have 2 drummers, like the Dead/Allmans. Plus no one around where I live is interested in being in a band that plays classic rock. :( Not cool.

MalcolmYoungRock 09-08-2004 01:07 PM

Wow, did you get banned from MX lunch??? For how long?

Paranoidd 09-08-2004 01:11 PM

MalcolmYoungRock 09-08-2004 01:12 PM

BillCosby 09-08-2004 01:16 PM
