02 and 04 are the ones i liked best i think. Them 2 numbers are sticking out to me.
5 is great too.
Jesse's voice sounds so much like Matt from Muse at times in that one song.
A lot of the other songs are very Morrissey influenced in my opinion though.
I love the line in 4:

"And to think of all the paintings we'd be without, if Van Gogh had gone and died face down, from loss of blood, the night he went and hacked his ear off."

I am digging these Brand New demos, although it seems like they have strayed away from traditional pop punk. They sound more like an indie band now. Almost.

Untitled 01-29-2006 04:47 PM

Yeah track5 is quite sweet chris, i love the intro.

Untitled 01-29-2006 05:01 PM

Ok Untitled 05 is a fuking amazing song

RissaPoodle 01-29-2006 05:08 PM

I'm just now having my second go around at listening to them.
Track1 is really floaty and I love it.
And Track4 is nice as well.

Rumour has it that the song is called "Cleanser".

Apparently track 3 was played solo by Jesse at an acoustic Dashboard Confessional tribute show back in early 05, and there's rumours about these not being for the new album.

- These are only a few of the demos that have been recorded since Deja was finished.
- All of these were recorded right after they finished Deja Entendu.
- These are just 9 of 55 demos that the band have dismissed and won't be putting on their new album.

Untitled 01-29-2006 05:37 PM

AH that sucks, there still good songs though.

Permanent Solution 01-29-2006 05:45 PM

I feel left out of this convo having opted not to listen to the demos :-\

Mute Print 01-29-2006 05:48 PM

I haven't listened to them either.

Pazz 01-29-2006 05:50 PM

I just got them off of Spence. I'm taking lots of music today, so I'm behind in what I have to listen to.

Permanent Solution 01-29-2006 05:57 PM

Oh I have them, I'm just not listening to them. *shrug*

I'm a music whore for everyone else :-\

Pazz 01-29-2006 05:58 PM

I take everything off of Brian. Sometimes Spence.:p

Mute Print 01-29-2006 06:00 PM

Matt usually takes a folder or two worth of music everyday it seems.

I have the demos as well, I just haven't bothered to listen yet. Same with the Thursday demos.

I'm on my second band of today. If I have time I may take a third.:p

Mute Print 01-29-2006 06:05 PM

Go for it.

I've already forgotten who it was you took earlier anyway.

Pazz 01-29-2006 06:07 PM

The Starting Line. I had like 15 random songs by them, so I just took everything.:p

Mute Print 01-29-2006 06:08 PM

Ah, that's right. Good choice.

Pazz 01-29-2006 06:13 PM

Yeah, I like their stuff, and I needed more of it.

Mute Print 01-29-2006 06:15 PM

They're definitely one of my favorite pop-punk bands. I'm seeing them in a couple weeks. :D

Pazz 01-29-2006 06:17 PM

Lucky. I need to go to a concert.

I might be going to see Fall Out Boy, From First to Last, Hawthorne Height, and The All American Rejects in May. It's not a forsure yet.

Mute Print 01-29-2006 06:20 PM

Nice. I already have tickets to see that show here in April.

Pazz 01-29-2006 06:21 PM

I need to talk to friends, parents. I need people to go with and a way there.

Permanent Solution 01-29-2006 06:37 PM

I should download more music...but I already have tons I've never heard :-\

PS For anyone who likes DEP...steal the Coalesce album off me. It's good stuff.

Mute Print 01-29-2006 06:38 PM

Which Coalesce album do you have, Vince?

Pazz 01-29-2006 06:39 PM

I just listened to all of the Brand New Demos, and they aren't that great. I like their earlier work better.

Permanent Solution 01-29-2006 06:40 PM

Revolution in just listening

You blasphemer. (How do you spell that?)

Mute Print 01-29-2006 06:46 PM
Revolution in just listening
Ah, okay. I may have to grab that from you in a little while.

Pazz 01-29-2006 06:47 PM

Blasphemy?

It's just not the same. I like their other stuff. :p

I downloaded some Dillinger Escape Plan last night. I don't know why.

:amaze:

Because it's awesome.

Which album?

Permanent Solution 01-29-2006 07:09 PM

Ah, that's the best imo. But not everyone agrees. I like driving to it though hehe. But it's not "driving music" per se.

Gnarmageddon 01-29-2006 07:29 PM

OH
Gucci shades up on my braids when i escalade
When I'm ridin', Sprewell slidin' like a escapade
I got it made, the big bossa tha nawth
Ain't s'hit changed, I still represent Swisha House
HAAAA

I listen to weird stuff while I drive. I either listen to The Smiths, a grind mix I made, or Minus the Bear. Or rap because I have big subs.

Permanent Solution 01-29-2006 07:32 PM

I'd fall asleep listening to MTB while driving :-\

But in general, remind me not to ride with you anywhere SPence :)

Gnarmageddon 01-29-2006 07:35 PM

You'd probably die. Whenever I drive with people, I almost get into accidents. I don't know why though. I drive fine when no one is in the car. And I'm still paying attention to the road and everything. I guess I just get nervous.

Excursions 01-29-2006 07:36 PM

I have in my car right now;

2pac - All Eyez On Me
Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back
Thrash Mix (Suicidal Tendencies - Selftitled, SOD - Speak English Or Die, Municipal Waste - Waste Em All)
Refused - Shape of Punk To Come
Fear Factory - Demanufacture
Dillinger Escape Plan - Miss Machine

Permanent Solution 01-29-2006 07:36 PM

Heh, my resolution to never enter a car with you driving is now doubled.

I hope you don't drive your friends off campus every day or anything heh.

Mute Print 01-29-2006 07:36 PM

I'm nervous about driving. :(
