Ahh, finally tried to pound some basic music theory into my bassist. Got him to play drums with a metronome and count along with it. Then he started playing his bass and i started playing drums with him counting. I told him to work on his sense of time and to tap your foot and count with all music and whenever you play your instrument.

I hope it got through to him!
