School kinda sucks at the moment - a guy from my year died in a car crash on the weekend, so as you can imagine, it hasn't been too fun for anyone the last couple of days.

As you guys knew or not know, I also had a gig. It was one of the rounds before the final for a band competition. Only one of the bands could get through.

Well we were there right on time and I looked at the stage. I had a ampeg svt-5 with two 410 cabinets. I was like: hmm yeah ok? We didn't get any time to check it out and we only had 8 minutes between the bands to set everything up.

So we went on stage and we were in our home town, the crowd was like: YAAAAY! We set everything up, got introduced. Started playing. And everytime we had finished a song it was like: YEEEEAAAH! from the crowd.. That's realy nice to hear when you are a bit nervous. Everything was OK, only we had this sound guy who wasn't qualified enough (he also messed up other bands). One of the guitars wasn't loud enough.. and I couldn't hear ANYTHING of the guy so I had to guess sometimes were we where with the song :upset:

But then there was this SUPER band, with SUCH a good bass player.. They were on stage and I was like: WOOOW. Called Rap-it

There were six bands.. and a punk band was closing the show. And those bastards couldn't sing good! There was this pit on their music, but musically they were not quite good as Rap-it. Rap-it had to win, but they didnt.

The audience choosed us for the best band of the evening, the jury choosed the punk band. The punk band had their place for the final secured. We have 20% chance that we are going to the final. Because in all the pre-rounds (before the final) there is this system with two prices. The bands chosen by the public are compared to eachother and the band with the most votes in % gets a wild card for the final :wave:

And the local news paper made an article about us and how the crowd went jumping and so when we played.. and not about the other bands :p

I had a gig on Friday too. Possibly our worst gig ever, lol. Despite there being a stage, we weren't allowed to play on it, so we were on the same level as the crowd. The PA was being setup while people were entering the room, and the bass amp was 105 mins late. We went down okay, due to people being copiously drunk, but I know we didn't play too well, which upsets me a little.

However, we recorded our EP's drums, guitar and bass yesterday. I'm at home while they're recording vocals and backing vocals, and I'm going in tomorrow while its being mixed. Woo! We will have a CD! Pity we suck... :upset:
