Nah, it's the entire NHS budget. It's crazy times.

Auberge le Mouton Noir 01-01-2007 12:31 PM

It's fairgame

Think of it as half of that tax is just tax which you have to pay

and the other half covers all the lung cancer

ChodaBoy 01-01-2007 12:41 PM

Its a good idea to change the age limit, but it will only make a 2% difference. Kids will either steal cigarettes from their parents, or hang outside the shops going "eh ah mate, get uz some fags"

2muchket! 01-01-2007 12:45 PM

Or go to fag houses. Cheaper too.

Good stuff. I heard somewhere that an Asda was doing that anyway. Or that they were serving 16 y/o's but they were I.D.'d as if they had to be over 18

Happy new year guys :) Had a very sedate night last night. My brothers plans got changed and he didn't fancy going, I didn't have any plans, so we stayed in and watched Jools Holland and drank. It was pretty cool

Worked today. It wasn't as packed as it has been, but then it wasn't as dead as we were expecting either :-/

We opened at 10, and within 5 minutes of the doors opening, I sold some guy Basic Instinct for a fiver o.O I mean, what?

2muchket! 01-01-2007 01:13 PM

^ Yeah ASDA does that, my ma gets abuse daily from the fucking pikey dicks when she won't sell 'em fags without I.D.

Might of been me, i said ages ago asda put all there ages up to 18 in support for the law, and with knifes its 18 too.

Luckily for me, i am 18, not that i smoke, i need knifes for uni though, only craft ones and blades though.

2muchket! 01-01-2007 01:23 PM

That and to knife bouncers with amirite ?

Patrick O))) 01-01-2007 01:24 PM

and daggers and epees and sabres, amirite?

Untitled 01-01-2007 01:29 PM

Oh yes, nothing better then knifing bouncers for fun.

Patrick O))) 01-01-2007 01:35 PM

lol when I was in Guernsey my cousin and his mates and I went to the island's club (lol), and got tankered. We were 'escorted' off the premises, but first the bouncer came over and said we were to go because it was closing, and he tapped this guy on the shoulder, who rounded on him with a movement like a centrifuge, and said "Here, you're one of them bouncer shits, aren't you?"

I would say it's a good move, but I'm not entirely sure how much of a difference it will make beyond making life more difficult for 16/17 year old smokers.

Urgh back to school tomorrow :(

Jev 01-01-2007 01:48 PM

Well, kids who are 16 in school, like year 11, would go to the shop by fags and sell them on to the lower years.

You would expect that to stop happening, but they will get them some other way.

Yeah, I'm in 6th Form and every time I go to the local shop at lunch there are always 14 year olds asking me to get them cigarettes.

I wouldn't expect it to stop as there are still 18 year-olds in 6th Form, but it would get cut down. However, as you said they'll find other ways to get cigarettes. I suppose there's nothign wrong with making life more difficult for them though.

trysthedrummer 01-01-2007 02:39 PM

Give 'em the finger and tell 'em to get foooked!!

2muchket! 01-01-2007 03:17 PM

Are there no fag houses down south ?!

Untitled 01-01-2007 03:23 PM

I have no idea what a fag house is.

I presume some Middlesbrough based gay brothel?

2muchket! 01-01-2007 03:31 PM

No. But I like the fact you connect me with me being a homosexual  There found on council estates usually basically people bring Cigarettes back from abroad and sell him cheap out there houses. Some people do it now and then some people have lorry driver buy 'em all the time and sell 'em that way. Problem is some of the cigs people get are counterfit and can really fuck you up.
