today sucked. i was cleaning deep fryers today in class and 5 gallons of 300 degree oil fell onto my hands and feet. i think i went into shock when it all came down on me 'cause i didn't feel it until about 8 minutes in.

went to the emergency clinic and they gave 800mg ibuprofen, heavy burn creme, elixir narcotics, and another blister creme. the pain was horribly excruciating to the point of my eyes watering, but i ended up taking a vicodin and just falling asleep so im better now.

I may get scarring on my foot 'cause that's where I got it the worst. My hand is a lot better now, and I think I'll be able to hold things / drive within the next few hours hopefully.

It was terribly painful waiting in the doctor's office to be called in though. The most satanic of thoughts were going through my head.

EDIT: 2nd degree on my hands and feet. I'm lucky though - usually the oil is 375, and what I actually was doing was draining it to add a hotter oil to get the consistency thinner... so basically I'm lucky it wasn't at full temp.

Sounds like it could have been a lot worse man, but at least your face didn't get burned, wouldn't wanna destroy that omnibus magnet now would you?
