Double Bass Jim 09-05-2005 09:20 PM

Oh man it's been ridiculous latley.

Josiah 09-05-2005 09:22 PM

WAhaha I could just see bringing a girl into his room... "Oh well.. uh.. sorry you can't walk anywhere or sit on the bed even.. yea, I like pink ya know. Sure soft furry boats feel nice on my feet esspeccially after I moisturize.."

Oh wait.. haha but a girl going in there will never happen.

Double Bass Jim 09-05-2005 09:25 PM

He'll bring rod over to inspect his pink walls

Win A Rabbit 09-05-2005 09:25 PM

and god said... "let there be couches"

billdrum 09-05-2005 09:28 PM

Hmmm, there are some interesting "conversations" going on in here tonight!

Epiphender 09-05-2005 09:31 PM

Bill what is that in your avatar?

Win A Rabbit 09-05-2005 09:33 PM

about the pink paint, i had a whole room in "buzz lightyear green" with bright yellow carpet. (no, i wasn't 3 years old, it was half a year ago when i was in my old house) now imagine how tough it was to sleep with that paint everywhere.

billdrum 09-05-2005 09:36 PM
Bill what is that in your avatar?
It's an evil "smilie" with guns. No particular reason, just thought it was funny!

poppinfresh 09-05-2005 09:44 PM

hey bill how are those conaways? have any soundclips? I realized that the gretsch usa customs that i wanted listed for 10,000 so i don't think i will be going for those anytime soon.

billdrum 09-05-2005 10:00 PM

Conaways are great! Check out my entry in the play-along contest to hear them. Of course, its not the best recording, but it'll give you an idea. What's the matter, can't come up with 10 grand in a hurry?

Win A Rabbit 09-05-2005 10:09 PM

i love your snare drum, bill. conaway also, i'm guessing?

billdrum 09-05-2005 10:16 PM

Actually, no. It's an old Ludwig standard that I stripped down, had the shell powdercoated, and added all new hardware to.

Win A Rabbit 09-05-2005 10:21 PM

it's amazing the sound you can get out of old standard snare drums, hey? i absolutely love my snare drum: a stock peavey snare that i bought for $20, it sounds exactly how i want my main snare drum to sound.

Double Bass Jim 09-05-2005 10:25 PM

Yea man those cheaper steel snares are GREAT, love the ring and overtones.

billdrum 09-05-2005 10:29 PM

Very versatile too!

Win A Rabbit 09-05-2005 10:49 PM

mine's very versatile. i was expecting to pay him $50-ish for it, but he's one of those kids that thinks piccolo snares tuned ridiculously high are the only good sounding snare drums, so he had this one laying around. he was going to give it to me, but i would have felt bad taking it for free, so i offered him $20.

it's very slow tonight on the forums. we should liven it up. does anyone have any idea (or plans) when the next drum-off is? i think i'm going to move my computer downstairs sometime soon for easier recording, but the rest of my family wouldn't want it down there for too long.

billdrum 09-05-2005 10:56 PM

I'd like to see something latin done for a drum-off, expand people's horizons a bit!

rockindrummer 09-05-2005 10:58 PM

Fuck school tomorrow. This sucks man, I gotta go to sleep now otherwise I will miss the first day of school. peace.

Voodoo Rabbit 09-06-2005 12:31 AM

I must go continue getting ready for school.

Damn, last night I had a dream that it had been flooded and part of it burnt down.
No such luck :(.

Jezen 09-06-2005 01:34 AM
How any person can live in such a mess is totally beyond me.
I can and I do, for the better part of most weeks.

PowerStamp 09-06-2005 01:35 AM

It's 2AM and I'm not at work! yay! lol

I am doing overnights this weekend (friday and saturday) but it should be a one time thing for me, at least only every few weeks so whatever.

Band practice tomorrow, hopefully getting some good recordings and finishing our 2 new songs for our upcoming shows.

Jezen 09-06-2005 01:37 AM

I didn't buy the mini china. I was outbid by 50p.

Double Bass Jim 09-06-2005 01:47 AM

Im sure you'll find somthin else

Plan B. 09-06-2005 01:52 AM

Frig! It's near 4am, and I gotta go to school tomorrow at 7:30.

Oh well, I think I'm going to go re-heat some rice.

Pauly 09-06-2005 01:57 AM

^ well atleast you got your priorities right.

Its nearly 4pm and I'll be at uni till 7:30. Its like we're living on opposite sides of the world... or maybe we just are.

Plan B. 09-06-2005 02:07 AM

You must live in... backwards land or something. Do you wear hats on your feet and a shoe on your head?

PowerStamp 09-06-2005 02:08 AM

in the twilight zone!
Dun dun!!!

It's currently 3AM here. Still adjusting to non-overnight hours, been up since 2 (when I woke up on overnights) so I think I'm gonna pull a 24-hour'er, go to bed 'tomorrow night' at 2AM (Aka 23 hours from now) like I did when I closed all the time (which I'm doing now)
AHH

I'm very hungry though.
And the nearest 24 hour store is far down the street (10 minute drive at least) or quik trip (limited selection, slightly higher prices) or wait about 3 hours.

Plan B. 09-06-2005 02:12 AM

Haha, dude where do you work?!

By the way this rice is fucking amazing!

Pauly 09-06-2005 02:18 AM

No... but we eat our hamburgers upside down. Does that count?

40min till my next class.. so much time to kill

Plan B. 09-06-2005 02:28 AM

My meal is done. It was very good. I think rice is my overall favourite food. I had some coke with it too, probably not a good idea since I'm trying to go to bed, and I think it upset my stomach a little too. It's just too good.

Jezen 09-06-2005 02:30 AM

Thats what I always did in Sydney. Don't go to bed before an exam, and eat rice all night long.

Josiah 09-06-2005 02:52 AM

Heh..

I see many students here have no relized the power of gradual studying. It's like practicing drums.. you get much better, much faster doign a lil every day. Rather then a big chunk at once every so often.

Of course.. I like sleep too. I also like to get A's and people go "Wow I was up all night, how did you get an A?" "Well I studied gradually in advance and got a good nights sleep."

Haha

Plan B. 09-06-2005 02:55 AM

Josiah you're so good at everything!

How do you do it, what's your secret?!

Josiah 09-06-2005 03:08 AM

Well.. not everything! HAHa I can't sing worth a lick, and if you asked me who the 32nd president was I'd have to turn to google!

But with most things it comes down to one word:

Application!

Long ago my parents taught me that I could do anything I set my mind too. And you know what? It's totally true.

Most people are held back by lazyness. Everyone has the potentional do great things. Many simply lack the motivation, or knowledge that this is true. Also many people have not had the best parents to teach them how to be positive.

This is one reason I love working with kids. It's truly amazing how a life can change when you show them that they can do so many things they thought they couldn't.

Why are there 22 yr old millionaires who started from scratch? Cause they applied themselves. Long ago people had nothing, they had to work for or make everything and anything they wantted.

Now everyone is lazy as all can be. Rare is it I find a student who is willing to put even 15 mins a day into dedicated practice. Yet it's no trouble to find someone who feels obligated to spend an hour trying to beat a level of a game, or can't miss their favorite TV show.

Jezen 09-06-2005 03:46 AM

You love kids Jo? I wouldn't have thought so.

I thought you would start arguments with them and call them gay.

Double Bass Jim 09-06-2005 03:53 AM

No thats me, J likes kids.

Plan B. 09-06-2005 03:56 AM

Plan B. 09-06-2005 04:47 AM

Ok, it's 6:47am, I have to get up at 7:30, so that leaves me roughtly 43 minutes of sleep if I were to pass out right NOW.

Tim 09-06-2005 04:48 AM

screw it dude just stay up. youll be more tired if you do go to sleep

Plan B. 09-06-2005 04:49 AM

Haha my friend just said the exact same thing.

I might have a cool dream if I go to sleep though.
