No, its the same, as the bridge doesnt change the tension, its the screw base underneath that lower/raise. The bridge stays level no matter what.

kurrpt 05-02-2005 08:54 AM

well heres hoping

The JoZ 05-02-2005 09:21 AM

Can someone update me as to what's going on with the Tool covering? /out of the loop

Adam Jones is GOD 05-02-2005 09:23 AM

Ken is recording drums any day now. Guitar will wait till we get the beat section to play with. And people are sharing their guitar embarassement moments.

kurrpt 05-02-2005 09:23 AM

i forgot to record my part of me, adam did it, says it sucks, someone else did it, said it sucked.

I was just introduced to LTE so i didnt have much time for anything else. Hopefully ill get 'er done today for ya

That was one I recorded over a year ago. I put it up as an example of bad tone you can get from both line in and mic

Thankfully my GNX4 never has those problems :-)
i call it stupid and pointless, you call it spam, same differenece
I wasnt insulting you I was just saying he was doing pointless annoying spam. Calm down.

clearvision 05-02-2005 10:29 AM

Oh BTW the recordings on my soundclick page were from a comp mic...The aenema one was from my line in...

I have spent the day searching for zoom patches for tool songs...with no avail :(

i think i would first have to get excited in order to 'calm' down, but thanks for the suggestion

Dr. Jake Destructo 05-02-2005 07:18 PM
so did anyone do the guitar part for part of me yet, besides destructo
What part are you doing?

For those of you interested-I tried recording it again. It sounded good, but I used a crappy tone, and yeah, what clearvision said about the pick scrabes..:( I think I might just buy a line in and a 1/4 inch adapter.

About clearvision's YSI'd version of Ænema-Ouch. :(

Darkness 05-02-2005 07:24 PM

Thank you for bumping the thread back to first page... I was trying to think of something to say but couldn't... I can't stand to see this on page 2.

Dr. Jake Destructo 05-02-2005 07:28 PM
if you guys want to do 46 & 2 i can have that recorded this afternoon. guitar obviously. any other needed songs let me know, i know nearly every tool song (pathetic i know) but i could most certainly play just about song you may need.

sorry not gonna list em all
Ken said he could do 46 & 2, however, as of now we're still on Stinkfist. After that is going to be Part of Me. Perhaps we could fit 46 & 2 in there after Part of Me, if you guys would like? I don't really want to get so far ahead of our selves, though, so after 46 & 2, no more songs until Stinkfist is through.

horseypie 05-03-2005 03:59 AM

what exactly is goin on here...are u guys like recording urselves playing songs and making a tool tribute album sorta thing out of it???

cuz if its good ill buy it

dUSK 05-03-2005 05:18 AM

It won't be for sale. JoZ and Ken will record the Bass/Drum segments, and then post it up for the guitarists to have a crack at playing with. After that, the results will (probably) be posted up here for everyone else who's interested to hear. If it works out, it should turn out to be pretty cool though.

Westy 05-03-2005 05:19 AM
this is kinda spam but id like to thank you guys for making me want to start listening to tool. it seems as though they are one of the few bands that puts real meaning in their songs and would never have realized it 'till i rea this thread
i was also inspired by this and now i am totally hooked on them ... i ve got one of their albums but i am hoping to get more.

White Zombie = Hardcore.

kurrpt 05-03-2005 08:32 AM

i almost have the guitar PERFECT for part of me. I would have recorded it yesterday, but i forget to bring home Joz's backing track. I wasnt sure of the length so i thought it would be dumb to just post a guitar with nothing else.

clearvision 05-03-2005 10:26 AM

Ouch Jake? It wasn't that bad...

kurrpt 05-03-2005 11:10 AM

huh?

clearvision 05-03-2005 11:25 AM

"About clearvision's YSI'd version of Ænema-Ouch."

I didn't think it deserved that, The tone was too trebly and it was just a one take demo...but i don't think it deserved the ouch tag.

ouch tag, who tagged it

dUSK 05-03-2005 11:27 AM

let's not get worked up over it. If people have any criticism of anyone's uploads, make it constructive, otherwise I can't see this working properly.

kurrpt 05-03-2005 11:28 AM

yea i agree. What i would say to that is....if you dont submit something that is better, eat a wank and shut the fuk up. If you upload something better, than talk sh*t. That should take care of about 90% of the crap

Adam Jones is GOD 05-03-2005 11:30 AM

I think it was a harmless dig. clearvision accepted that its not his best work, and that it was done a while ago, and I think Jake was just ribbing him a bit.

Remember, we're all friends here. :thumb:

dUSK 05-03-2005 11:30 AM

If you upload something better, don't talk shit. Try giving advice to those who don't have the capabilities as you on your respective instrument.

well, what i was getting at was, most people that were talking trash didnt submit anything. If you they didnt submit anything they should talk trash......problem solved

clearvision 05-03-2005 12:11 PM

Meh i'm not bothered if people don't like it, but just saying ouch = not good, tell me what was wrong atleast...that is the biggest problem with the guitar forum/audio arena. People are too quick to condemn you, even if they can do better, the would rather slag you off than give you advice.

yea, thats people in general. The microcosm that we are currently inhabiting actually reflects the real world.

Thats very true, yet the Tool thread is an exception. People in general don't act like the people in this thread.

kurrpt 05-03-2005 12:39 PM

i would deff agree with that ^^^^^^^^^^

unfortunately this smaller microcosm is a smaller part of a larger microcosm which is kurrpt, so you will have that trickle down effect from time to time

Hmmm... I could draw hundreds of conclusions from this, but I'm in school and this period is almost over.

The JoZ 05-03-2005 01:00 PM

So what's up with the drum tracks? Has Ken laid anything down yet?

SonorKen 05-03-2005 01:05 PM

I plan to do it tomm.. I am totally covered up with work and getting pulled in 100 different directions. The 2 band thing is killin me as I have full practice schedules with both of them. I have my mics spread out all over hell and creation as well! I will do my best to work on it tomm. BUT my schedule tomm is. Get off work at 7 am, home at 8. Have a meeting with a web developer for Crutch's web page and an internet business I am involved with at 10. Lunch at 1 with a potential drumming studio job. Crutch practices tomm from 3pm to 10 pm, then I have to do laundry and get ready to wake up at 5 to go to work at 7am and work a 24 hour shift. I hope to be able to work on the tracks tomm. morning before I leave for the meeting.
