It sucks, and I can't log on to the website to find out where and when it is. I am screwed. The exam itself will be easy.

If it's an introduction, I'd guess it gives a bit of both.

Yes

I think you are a good mod and do a good job, sometimes you do let one or two things slide dependent on the person who posted, but overall you do a good job.
Micro or macro economics?
Introduction to both, I don't think that we have done any macro yet. All supply/demand, opportunity cost stuff.

Maybe. Where I go to school, intro to economics is divided into 2 separate courses (micro and macro) and you can take one or the other, or both.

I guess maybe my university is a bit of an exception.

Mine is like that as well, only it is one course and the first half is micro and the second half if macro. Or the other way around, I always get the two confused.

That's good, unless you don't know what either of them are, or aren't sure which one is the one that helps you the most in your career.

I would've divided them by semester, maybe, but into two separate classes, seems a bit silly (for an Introduction).

Are you taking either?

I took micro economics last year. My uncle is an economics professor at Dalhousie, and he recommended that micro was the better place to start.

And I agree that it's a bit silly, also. It'd be easier to have one class that covers both.

thelowsoundofbass 10-11-2006 01:19 PM

People in my class are so stupid, she just gave us the answer for a question, and people still got it wrong.

Radiobass81 10-11-2006 01:21 PM

Nice, nice.

I planned to study economics once, and I was reading through Economics For Dummies (ace book), but I don't think I'm still that interested in it.

Accounting vs. *one of the vatrious things I enjoy that would lead me to be a proffesor* now.

People just did it again. Wow either they are stupid, or smartasses.

Radiobass81 10-11-2006 01:24 PM

That reminded me of my math teacher, somehow.

If we have an answer right, but no process, no points given. If we get the answer some other way besides that we are studying, it's wrong as well, as we are "looking to use what we are studying, not finding other ways to an answer through logic".

Economics is a good thing to know, even if you only take a couple of classes. I've tried to vary the studies of my first two years so that I can be exposed to a broad range of disciplines.

You're considering being a professor? That's what I plan on becoming.

I'm considering it, but I used to be heavily against it because I always thought I'm not the best at teaching.

I've grown to like the idea more, and although originally I wanted to be a Literature teacher, my fear of having students with a wider vocabulary than me has made me reconsider, and now I'm thinking of going with History.

And, as for being an accountant, my dad is one, and I like what he does. That's pretty much all I have on it :p.

The size of your vocabulary doesn't matter, as long as you can properly convey your message. I've had professors who barely speak English and still manage to teach very well.

lemoley 10-11-2006 01:33 PM

well im off guys

see ya

Wintermute 10-11-2006 01:35 PM

I'm not going to answer that question, Gav, I'm just going to bitch-slap you.
