If it's the fingers on the fretboad, some curation on the wood might be rubb
That's what I was thinking. It's probably best to change the strings then you can be sure that's not the problem. This problem will probably go away in a couple of days though, when the finish that hasn't been applied properly has been washed off by your sweat. It's only really an issue if you notice your tone deteriorating as the black stuff comes off.

Sleepy 12-26-2005 02:26 PM
Its the ones on my fretting hand. I could change the strings to see if thats the problem but I dont want to waste perfectly goos strings if it sint the problem.
If you have the time and patience, try changing the strings (and wash your hands!). If the same thing happens, then it's something on the fretboard rubbing off on you. If not, something is screwy with your strings.

Ok. For now, nothing is wrong with my tone, but ive only had it since the 24th. Ill start by changing the strings, and then ill see if it keeps up.

Anyways Thanks both of you.

It looks like that's exactly what they did.
I'm trying to get used to the new layout, I want to try something new than the previous one, it was grey and white.

I changed it back to that a few minutes ago, but I switched back to the Sputnik one, it's pretty cool.
I'm still using the traditional one (blue/green)
I made 2 reviews on Sputnik, everyone hated them, I left. That's it for me
Which albums did you review?

Lord Abortion 12-26-2005 05:13 PM

I think that the Remember me button has been fixed with the Sputnikness.

I've always used blue/green. I hate all of the other ones. I like the way sputnik looks, but the sputnik skin on mx just doesn't look right for me.

Were you planning on reviewing anything Stoic?

It definitely takes time to sort of find your place there. My first few reviews turned into nothing but flaming and spamming, but I kept going, and things are much easier now. :)

Meh, i just use the one thats there when i sign on. Whenever i change it, it just goes back to the MX style silver one when i sign back on :shrugs:

And as for sputnik, I lurk around there everynow and then, did one comment on a review and that was it.

Lord Abortion 12-26-2005 06:57 PM

I'm using the new Skin now...

Seems cool, different from my Normal Blue/green.

Law revision sucks...I go straight into exams after the hols. :(

blue3 12-26-2005 06:59 PM

I still use the gray skin.

And I go into exams after holidays too. :( It sucks.

Mazeppa 12-26-2005 07:02 PM

I have exams, but luckily they're only mock exams. They're still a pain though, due to mocks I have to go back to school a week earlier than I would otherwise :/

Also, I like the new Sputnik skin.

Lord Abortion 12-26-2005 07:08 PM

I'm really really going to have to do well this exam period.
That means revision in this next three weeks before they start.
Gah...I've been looking for stuff I need to buy and came up with this list

-PA system for band.(£200-£300)
-New CD player- (£30)
-CD's I didn't get for Christmas- (£50)
-Driving lessons and soforth(£300+)

My current funds are about £150...and then I'll get maybe £200 for my Birthday, and then Pay from work is about £150 per month, so that should take care of the driving lessons from there. But I obviously have stuff to buy, Gig tickets, CDs, Bus fares, Booze... per month, so that may take a bit off.

That's going to be one of my new years resolutions-learn to drive.

Stormrider 12-26-2005 07:10 PM

My parents pay my gig tickets. And sometimes even my cd's and stuff. I didnt get any cd's for Christmas, so on vacation, theres about 4, 5 cd's I want to buy.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-26-2005 07:15 PM

It's true. You guys should consider getting involved. You don't have to necessarily add reviews if you don't want, but it's always rewarding for the reviewers to see their colleagues think their reviews were well-written. You can even submit music news, if you'd like (just follow the guidelines). Eventually, you may want to start reviewing, which would be a good thing :)

Just start small, if you want, and work your way up. And if you have any problems with users or have any questions, just go to the Sputnikmusic forum and things will get taken care of.

Not a bad Christmas Got a couple albums and a load of movies from my extended family. My out-of-state relatives just sent some money saying "We don't see you enough to know how best to shop for you, so we figured we'd just give you a more flexible version of a gift card. Spend it all in one place if you feel so inclined."

I also got my new external harddrive that will be used exclusively for video editing. There's enough space on this mofo to edit feature length flicks. The editing software will be arriving early next week once I'm back at campus.

Thats cool man...

I can't stop playing with my new Crybaby Wah. :naughty:

Shattered_Future 12-26-2005 09:42 PM

I got some decent stuff for Christmas...MIDI keyboard, a guitar cord that lets me record directly into my computer (don't know how to use the damn thing ), some band merch, cash, and miscellaneous other items though.

Worst Christmas ever though...my grandpa died Christmas Day. :( :(

Apocalyptic Raids 12-26-2005 09:45 PM

I'm sorry to hear that, SF.

MIDI keyboard sounds pretty fun. We used to have a keyboard lying around the house.:(

I got a pair of deent headphones :D

Sorry to hear about your grandfather, SF, but at least he's not suffering anymore.

I didn't get any new music for the holidays. The closest music-related thing I received was an iPod FM transmitter for my car, so I can play my music through my radio. Cool gift, I recommend purchasing it if you own an iPod.

You and me are in the same boat, bro.

SO. I while ago I lost my Shadows Fall CD, Somber Eyes To The Sky, and I was like "Damn, I really loved that CD". So me and my bitches (friends) were shopping around at the mall today and imagine my excitement when I see the very same CD on sale for $14.99! Woofricken'hoo!

I also bought the new Destruction CD and a Goatwhore CD as well, so I made out like a hardcore dancer dressed up as a bandit. I also bitchslapped a kid in the face. Though I don't know why.

I am also a bit buzzed! But I don't think i'll be gettin' drunk because....welll I have no beer or alcohol or anything at home.

...And as I am typing this, my grandma just informed me she can't find a 200 dollar check I recieved for christmas. Son of a bitch.
