so i wanted to get into hip hop/rap

i see there's a huge list but what are good albums to get me started

depends on what you like. it might be hard to get into old school/ pure soul based hiphop at first.

These are my favorites:

El-P - Fantastic Damage
Deltron 3030
The Roots - Things Fall Apart
Outkast - Aquemini
Company Flow - Funcrusher Plus

El-P, Deltron, and CoFlow are more progressive... Roots are traditional, but a lot of non hiphop fans like them cause they play their own instruments (lol)... Outkast is basically the defining southern hiphop duo.
