John actually blew out his vocal chords recording that song:eek:

Well they'd been recording all day, and they knew they wouldnt have another chance. John's vocals chords were shredded, so they knew they only had one take, and they nailed it.

His vocals are quite a nice effect and it has made their version unique and memorable.

Twist and Shout is probably my favorite pre-Help! Beatles song. Love Lennon's vocals, a performance that very few rock songs have matched.

I'll have to go with "We can work it out!" I looove that song.

Great song. It seems like we get into these pre-Help Beatles discussions as though the good songs are few and far between...it's understandable though. Not saying I don't like the songs, as there are very few I don't like, but they're so different that I can see why we talk about them like this.

We can work it out is Post-help, it was released with day tripper simultaneaously (sp?) with Rubber Soul.

I originally heard songs like 'Across The Universe' and 'The Long And Winding Road' with all the snazzy production work and I grew to love them so I don't really enjoy the versions off Naked

I grew up with the original versions as well, but I was never a huge fan of the [I]Let it Be[/I] tracks until Naked came out.

I always liked Can't buy me Love as my fav pre-help Beatles song. But recently I have discovered a couple tunes of Beatles for Sale. No Reply is a great John song and I'll Follow the Sun is a beautiful Paul song.

There you go! I seriously can't think of an actual song (with exlcudes wild honey pie) that I don't enjoy listening to. I even like listening to Revolution Number 9. The only songs that I have any dis-like for are Paperback Writer and there cover of the song Three Cool Cats of their anthology.....I hate that song lol...and Paperback Writer when I first heard it, I didn't like it at all, but now i've grown to enjoy it, but it still will never make a top 50 list!

And too the previous posts...I Should Have Known Better is a freaking awesome song, when I watched A Hard Days Night on Much Music as soon as I heard that song I was freaking out lol I was like wow that's insanely catchy!

And also It Wont Be Long is also really awesome, I love the chorus with the back and forth between John and Paul.

There are only a few Beatles songs I don't like (Paperback Writer, Lady Madonna, like two off White Album disc 2, and a few off Let It Be). They definently knew what they were doing.

I am the Walrus , Ob-la di Ob la Da , and the Ballad of John And Yoko are my favorite beatles songs , although i like almost all of their songs.

I've already listened to Revolver and 1962-1966. Eight Days A Week is amazing. Aswell as the solo in In My Life.

I also got a cool Revolver shirt yesterday.

I just bought the Concert for Bangladesh DVD for my dad for Christmas, I can't wait until I can watch it with him.

I just gave Abby Road my personally long-awaited first listen in about ten years. Great music. The highlights definitely were Come Together, Octopus's Garden, I Want You, Here Comes The Sun, Because, and Sun King.

Next up is Sgt. Pepper's..., followed by the 1 compilation.

What's with the hate for Paperback Writer. That's an awesome song.

I don't think there are any Beatles songs that I dislike. There may be a few that I don't really care for but they are all fun to listen to. I used to hate Wild Honey Pie but even that has grown on me. Actually I'm not a big fan of regular Honey Pie, that might be one of my least favorite songs.

Edit- Cocert for Bangladesh DVD owns. Good choice.
