I listen to mainly the Ozzy era Sabbath. I am listening to the song The Dark/Zero the Hero and it clearly is not Ozzy. I was just curious, who did the vocals for the song and what album is it on? Thanks.
Generally, music is played. Try to get your head around that and we can talk.
If that made any sense, we could talk. If you're saying that synthesizers are somehow 'not playing music' then we can't talk because you don't even know anything about anything. |

Ah good song you have found there. It is on the Born Again album which has Ian Gillan(the guy from the famous Deep Purple Mark II line-up). And lupus we really don't need you here, I never stated my opinion as fact and neither did brum, I was annoyed by the fact you just completely, and without respect, had a go at his opinion. |
I never stated my opinion as fact

Also noting that paranoid is way too overrated
That's an opinion. Notice how there's no "I believe", "In my opinion" etc. You stated it as fact.
and neither did brum

Paranoid is poo
Like I said, there's nothing in his post that says anything about his opinion. he was stating his opinion as fact. Just as I did. So why did you get on my ass about it and not his? Retard.
If you're saying that synthesizers are somehow 'not playing music' then we can't talk because you don't even know anything about anything.
Sorry, I just enjoy knowing that the music I listen to couldn't have just been made by any retard who took an hour to learn the "intricacies" of pushing a few buttons on a keyboard. And before you ask, yes I have used a snythesizer before. It's even easier than I make it out to be. |

because if you look back through the thread he has already said many times why he doesnt like the paranoid album
Your opinion is completely backwards.
How can an opinion be backwards? |
Your opinion is completely backwards.
Most of the synth effects sabbath used were incredibly fruity, as well as the fact that using a synth is just retarded in the first place.
I've stated MANY times in this thread about my dislike for the Paranoid album, I'm fed up of ranting about it over and over again, so if you get bored feel free to read the entire thread. So my opinion is backwards because I prefer NSD! - one of their most overlooked albums to their most over-rated over-played and pretty boring album Paranoid? Whats wrong with synths? Have you ever composed music? Synths allow for endless possibilities when composing music, without them the music of today wouldn't exist. They're used everywhere, even if you don't realise. I just saw your usertitle...and to make sure I keep you happy: In my opinion, which is normally completley different to everyone else's, I think that Slash is a crap and boring guitarist. I'd rant some more, but I'm in the middle of cooking my tea... |
I'm pretty stoked as I've finally got Fairies Wear Boots down. The paranoid album is pretty overrated but still a good album IMO. My favorite BS Album is Sabotage because I like Hole in the Sky. Ozzy writes some pretty crazy lyrics.

What sabbath songs are you guys trying to learn?
What sabbath songs are you guys trying to learn?
None. I justed wanted to know the name of the singer on the song The Dark/Zero The Hero. |
That's an opinion. Notice how there's no "I believe", "In my opinion" etc. You stated it as fact.

And there's no need to preface every single sentence with 'In my opinion.' It's generally obvious when something is someone's opinion. Oh, and you suck, get off the forums. |
What sabbath songs are you guys trying to learn?
None at the moment, the last one I learnt was Under the Sun, I think. I can play quite alot of Sabbath songs, they're quite easy. |
How does Tony get the start of Under The Sun so heavy? Is it a special guitar effect?
|
I've stated MANY times in this thread about my dislike for the Paranoid album, I'm fed up of ranting about it over and over again, so if you get bored feel free to read the entire thread.
I could state my reasons for thinking you're wrong a thousand times and it wouldn't change the fact that it's my opinion.
Whats wrong with synths? Have you ever composed music?
Did you even read my previous post? I answered both those questions.
Synths allow for endless possibilities when composing music, without them the music of today wouldn't exist. They're used everywhere, even if you don't realise.
Of course they're used everywhere. But seldom are they used in any meaningful way. I have never heard (and this is aside from my bias against synthesizers) anyone use synthesizer in a way that adds to the music, except in techno. Oh wait, no. I can think of one song. Teenage Wasteland. But that was completely different to most songs where synthesiizer ws used.
In my opinion, which is normally completley different to everyone else's, I think that Slash is a crap and boring guitarist.
What was that? You've only heard 3 Guns N' Roses songs?
OK, you really don't know anything about anything
Nice job, pussy. Instead of arguing your point, accuse me of ignorance as a thin disguise to the fact that you have no reply.
And there's no need to preface every single sentence with 'In my opinion.' It's generally obvious when something is someone's opinion.
So how come I was targeted for it? |
What was that? You've only heard 3 Guns N' Roses songs?
Whats that? I have Appetite for Destruction, have heard most of the songs from the Use Your Illusion albums and have heard a large chunk of the Velvet Revolver songs? Damn dude, thats quite alot of music isn't it! rippa - The tuning on Under The Sun is DropC#, which makes it sound so heavy. |
Whats that? I have Appetite for Destruction, have heard most of the songs from the Use Your Illusion albums and have heard a large chunk of the Velvet Revolver songs?
**** dude, thats quite alot of music isn't it!
I wrote a paragraph in response to this, bringing up Slash's Snakepit etc. but I decided to delete the whole thing when I found this post of yours, which in one go, proves why the paragrapgh would be lost on you, and why your opinion on guitarists is worthless. In a discussion about Tony Iommi:
Best Hard Rock guitarist, actually.
I don't even know why I'm arguing with you. You constantly prove that your opinion is worthless. I don't even need to say anything. It's like you want to discredit yourself. And you call Slash boring... So do want to respond to the rest of my post now? |
So do want to respond to the rest of my post now?
Sure, why not. It might get lost though. Edit: I just noticed you pulled my quote out of the Iommi Fan Club thread that got closed pretty quickly last night. It was hardly a discussion, just another chance for someone to state how they think he's the best metal guitarist, when what he's been playing for the past 35 years is a mixture of Rock and Blues. |
To Lupus
I don't think anyone's gonna take your opinion on Slash terribly seriously with a user title like yours. I also think Slash is a moderately talented blues /rock guitarist and nothing more |
I also think Slash is a moderately talented blues /rock guitarist and nothing more
That doesn't mean he's crap though. And he's easily more than just "moderately talented". He gets less credit than he deserves, especially when you compare him to guitarists like Jimmy Page. Are you trying to say that Tony Iommi isn't a metal guitarist? If so, you're a fucking retard. If not, I have this to say. It doesn't matter WHERE you said it. What matters is that you said Tony Iommi was the best hard rock guitarist (barring Ritchie Blackmore) which makes you a fucking retard. |

Yeah, and it's my opinion that you're a retard. Respect that.
|
Whatever you say kiddo.
|
black sabbath was the band that started metal. a bunch of rock gods to me. especially iommi
|
Yeah, and it's my opinion that you're a retard. Respect that.
Don't go around calling long-standing forum members "retards" just because they don't agree with you - we all disagree about a lot of things on this forum but that sort of behaviour doesn't help. Iommi isn't the fastest or most talented soloist ever seen, but he had an ear for a good riff, and virtually single-handedly shaped the music style of metal. For that, even if there are hundreds of guitarists nowadays that could easily out-shred him, he deserves some respect. Or was it Slash who did that? |
Why else would I be in the Black Sabbath thread if I didn't like Black Sabbath? I do, but it's just ****ing stupid to call Slash a boring guitarist when you say Tony Iommi is the second best hard rock guitarist ever. Iommi's trademark is slow repetitive riffs.
|
Lupus, you need to stop acting like a twat or get off these forums, preferably the latter.
|
I wasn't being a twat. I was merely stating my opinion.
|
Lupus - see how you're making such good friends here? And in such a short time - it's remarkable!
You obviously have at least one talent.. Oh, and as for repetetive riffs? They're what make tunes |
I wasn't being a twat. I was merely stating my opinion.
An opinion which normally I'd respect. // So yeh, Dio is touring the UK this month, is anyone going to see him? If I remember to put some money in the bank I'll be going. A whole Evening with Ronnie James Dio, it should be amazing. |
lol, a twat?
