well one of my friend's considers them burnouts and he smokes more weed then all of them.

I get the impression from all my high school friends that they only go to school for homeroom everyday and then leave to get high and drunk

Eh not necessarily. One of the things that [I]tends[/I] to happen when someone starts smoking weed regularly is they begin to see what's important in life: enjoyment. Now, a lot of times this is mistaken for being lazy or stupid, but to be honest your friends probably just realized how pointless high school really is.

And yeah jaundice, you're totally right haha. A burnout as I see it is like an old hippie pothead that never did anything with his life because he likes acid too much. No teenager is really a burnout

i know plenty of teenagers that are burnouts

Enjoyment is important but being successful so you can earn enjoyment is more important.

High school isn't pointless because it leads to university which leads to a sustainable career.

well this is one of the catch-22s of drugs. At first it makes you happy every time you do it, which is why people so often become regular users after the first time they use. However, this effect quickly wears off and smoking a bowl becomes akin to smoking a cig.

In the long run though, I don't believe drug users or non-drug users are ever inherently more or less happy than the other

edit2: I once thought high school was important but it's really not at all. Graduating it is important but besides that how you do in high school is pretty much a moot point
