I want a nice bass before the end of the summer, though.
Yeah... I know what you mean. If you do get a job, buy as much awesome gear as you can..... don't get crappy stuff either.... save up and get the best stuff you can. Get your dream bass and a $2000 stack if you're sure you want to stick with it. I can't tell you how often I wish I'd bought a bigger amp when I was in High School and didn't have to pay bills and rent.

Spaceman Spiff 02-12-2005 01:28 AM

I'll finally have my new bass in about 3 weeks time.
Waiting sucks the big one.

It'll be worth the wait when my sexual SR506 arrives.

Saitoku 02-12-2005 01:28 AM
By the way, I just wrote that Spaceman Spiff adventure.

I often write random little things like that when up late/early in the morning.
I've got every Calvin and Hobbes comic ever run on my hard drive. It's a beautiful thing, I tell you.

PaulSimonon 02-12-2005 01:29 AM

I only need to make 1,000$ or so altogether.... If I get the 4x8 I'll have my dream stack for only 550$!

Spaceman Spiff 02-12-2005 01:30 AM

The comics are way cooler when you have the books, like I do.

Spaceman Spiff 02-12-2005 01:31 AM

I'm gonna need a job before I can afford anymore gear, and I really need an amp.

Saitoku 02-12-2005 01:32 AM

Cool. The stack I eventually want to get is a Avatar 2x10 and 1x15... I'm not sure what amp... My dream bass.... well, I think you've probably seen that DHuff that I adore...

If not:

Oh god I accidentally went into The Pit, someone, get me to a decontamination shower.

*Shudders*.

Saitoku 02-12-2005 01:33 AM

I used to have a ton of the books, but they were all ruined by water.... :upset:
I used to have a ton of the books, but they were all ruined by water.... :upset:
That really sucks. :upset:
I hate when water ruins stuff.

PaulSimonon 02-12-2005 01:35 AM

Darrin seems to be pretty cool, judging by his TB posts.

Yeah, those guys in the pit can be real bastards....

PaulSimonon 02-12-2005 01:36 AM

Gaslight, it never washes off.

Saitoku 02-12-2005 01:37 AM
Darrin seems to be pretty cool, judging by his TB posts.
I've emailed him a few times. He does seem pretty cool, but not quite cool enough to make me a replica of that bass for $600. ;)

PaulSimonon 02-12-2005 01:37 AM

Haha! I be he could do it with plywood and toothpaste though.

Saitoku 02-12-2005 01:38 AM
Haha! I be he could do it with plywood and toothpaste though.
Don't forget my rubber band strings.

(Woo! 2,500 posts!)

PaulSimonon 02-12-2005 01:39 AM

Yay Saitoku!!

Saitoku 02-12-2005 01:43 AM

I noticed about a month ago that there's a guy on talkbass that has the same avatar as I have here except his is colorized.

gaslight 02-12-2005 01:44 AM
Gaslight, it never washes off.
Well if water can't get that layer of tainted skin off...

*Reaches for potato peeler.*

Try the turpentine.

“Must……make… clean…”

PaulSimonon 02-12-2005 01:48 AM

Yeah. I like the black and white myself.

Saitoku 02-12-2005 01:52 AM

Yeah, me too.

Floyd Pepper is the man.

PaulSimonon 02-12-2005 01:56 AM

Does anyone have any suggestions basswise for me now that JP has.... retired....?

gaslight 02-12-2005 01:56 AM

Anyway guys I'll see you later, I'm actually leaving my house .

To go a party .

Crapdragoon 02-12-2005 01:56 AM

Fantastic

PaulSimonon 02-12-2005 01:57 AM

PaulR 02-12-2005 02:01 AM

Morning guys. Whats going on.

Its 8AM and I can't be bothered to sleep anymore.

Crapdragoon 02-12-2005 02:01 AM

not diggin the pickguard.

PaulSimonon 02-12-2005 02:03 AM

I like it. It kinda ties the whole bass together between classic and modern stuff.

PaulSimonon 02-12-2005 02:03 AM

I guess I have a thing for ugly pickgaurds... the one on teh Peavey is pretty ugly.

Saitoku 02-12-2005 02:04 AM

I'm a bigger fan of natural woods, but that's me. If you dig the orange, I'd say go for it.

Don't make a choice before you play a G&L L-2000, though.

Hey, Crapdragoon.

Hey, Paul.

How are you guys?

PaulR 02-12-2005 02:06 AM

I'm a little bored. I have to go to my Grandads later, and spend the whole day in Putney, the most boring part of London.

PaulSimonon 02-12-2005 02:07 AM

Yeah, I normally like natural stuff, but orange seems to catch my eye. So does the array of names on that bass... Mike Lull, Modulus, Alembic, and Ken Smith.....

PaulSimonon 02-12-2005 02:09 AM

This bass looked intriguing as well...

PaulR 02-12-2005 02:10 AM

I don't like the body shape on that one, and the pickguard is kinda fugly.

Saitoku 02-12-2005 02:11 AM
I'm a little bored. I have to go to my Grandads later, and spend the whole day in Putney, the most boring part of London.
Yeah, but you'll still be in London... I'm stuck in Farmington, Maine.

PaulSimonon 02-12-2005 02:11 AM

As well as this one...

THAT bass look sweet. I like that one much more than the first one.
