We should make January ,"put a hip hop icon in your avatar," month fo the classic rock people.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<< One step ahead of ye  |
THey just don't seem to fit in with that list, but I've never really listened to them except for that new single which I don't like too much. The fact that they created a reality show to find a singer absolutley skeeves me.
Pretty Vegas? That song isn't that bad.. I don't like the new singer much.
|
I'm unsure whether I want to give up my Artcore avatar though :-(

I've had ATCQ avatars before, but I'm not sure that all the regs would comply with this idea. You never know though... edit: woah now everbody is posting. |
CR regulars.... come out to plaaaaaaaaaay!
/warriors style Seriously guys, I'm bored.
I just watched that again. I like The Stooges. Goodnight. |
I just watched that again.
I like The Stooges. Goodnight.
Goodnight and have a super duper new year. And The Stooges are awesome. They had this raw, anarchic noise and you barely hear anymore. |
And The Stooges are awesome. They had this raw, anarchic noise and you barely hear anymore.
Actually you hear it every where. Electric Flag was cooler than Cream. |
Pretty Vegas? That song isn't that bad.. I don't like the new singer much.
I think I am the only person to actually watch Rock Star and liked the show, from what I remember. JD Fortune is an asshole though. But Pretty Vegas is a good song. I really don't care for INXS's old work.
Actually you hear it every where.
Proof? I've never heard anything like it. |
Rock Star was an awesome show, I loved it, some great singers, great performances, even though JD Fortune or whatever the hell his name is was a jackass egoman.
i just hope they can do that show again, find another singerless band or something. Pretty Vegas is pretty good, though. Remember that song Trees? |
Woooooo Classic Rock....Well Im 13 and i must say classic rock is the stuff, nothing better then listening to it. Led Zeppelin are the greatest woot. RAP AND HIP HOP SUCKS, go rock and metal!!!
|
RAP AND HIP HOP SUCKS, go rock and metal!!!
I hate two things about music. a) How some people think if you're a "rocker", you have to hate rap. Why not like both? b) People will say an entire genre sucks after hearing a few crappy examples, i.e. Fiddy Cent |
Tis true i just hate it
|
b) People will say an entire genre sucks after hearing a few crappy examples, i.e. Fiddy Cent
No, thats just as bad... just ignore them. I love how they always say like "I'm 13" or whatever as if we are going to be impressed. "Oh my lookey here a 13 year old who likes classic rock, unheard of!" |
it seems like we've got the mad rush of christmas kids (kids who've gotten an instrument for christmas posting online on musician forums) recently
Led Zeppelin? pshhh....you don't know good music until you hear Grand Funk Railroad and even though I don't hate rap as a genre, I've yet to hear one good song (in essence a PC way of saying I don't like it) |
yeh alrite
|
yeh i like grand funk railroad they arent bad at all
|
Sin's a Good Man's Brother is such a cool song....
other bands you might want to check out, if you like Zep, are Cream, Deep Purple, Blue Oyster Cult, and hell I'll just whore out the Who as well. |
yeh i like all of them especially cream and deep purple they are up there
|
I just had one hell of a new years! After a year of being ripped off I have finally found some d-lysergic acid diethylamide, I was peeking on it when the year crossed over. The smoke was so thick when it covered the streets you couldn't see 5 feet in front of your face and all the fireworks...very fun tripping setting. :D
About Roy Haper: Yes, I used to talk about him all the time and Stormcock was my favorite Folk album, it just seemed asthough nobody really cared when I brought him up so I eventually just gave up on him as a topic. |
Happy New Years.
Ha. It appears that this is the first post of the morning, at noon. A little too much New Years partying last night. Thanks for The Who. Now all I need is the post-Moon albums for complete discography, but I'm not in a rush to get those. /has nothing else to contribute |

Ha. It appears that this is the first post of the morning, at noon. A little too much New Years partying last night.
Happy New Years to you to man. And yea, I'm sitting here trying to recover from all that MGD.
Thanks for The Who. Now all I need is the post-Moon albums for complete discography, but I'm not in a rush to get those.
Yea, there are a few good songs on them but mostly crap. Although John speaks highly of some early Pete Townshend solo albums, so I might check those out. |
I've seen really good reviews for Entwistle's solo debut, which I'd be really interested in hearing. Probably really hard to find though. I'm pretty sure Daltrey's solo career was awful.
|
I picked up the Ox Anthology (a 2-disc John Entwislte compilation), and it's pretty good stuff.

Yeah, I saw that at a record store in Georgia, but my dad rushed me out of the store really fast. Lame parents. Is it a mix of Who and solo Entwistle stuff? |
It's all Entwislte's own material, although it includes some Who songs like Whiskey Man, Heaven and Hell, the Real Me, and Success Story. They are his own solo versions though, they aren't the actual Who songs.
|
Supposedly Entwhistle had a pretty good carreer, which is believable since he was the only other songwriter in the Who. He was a classic case of a good songwriter stuck in a band with a fantastic one.
|
He was a classic case of a good songwriter stuck in a band with a fantastic one.
He was a good songwriter, but he was paired next to Pete, who was a legend. It's kind of like George Harrison and Lennon/McCartney. |
If anyone has been in the bass forum lately there was a video of Entwistle shredding.
|
Yea, thats the video from the recent Tommy/Quadrophenia live release. Amazing stuff.

I'll have to check that out, Entwistle is a god. |
