Still you shouldnt be allowed to pass at all if you jump stop signs.

I cant say i see stop signs around these parts anymore, only ever traffic lights.

I like small cars. Gas is expensive. I only use a large car going skiing because it's safer in the mountains.

B 01-24-2006 03:38 PM

Gas is mad expensive now.

I don't like driving huge things. I'd prefer a small car or smallish truck to some huge *** SUV.

It depends what the whether and roads are like, if its mountains with girtted roads, barriors around the road etc, id stick with a little car, other wise 4X4 are definatly better.

Permanent Solution 01-24-2006 03:40 PM

Yeah, I've never driven an SUV or a truck. Biggest we have is a minivan. And I don't like it much at all. Only positive is I could take the seats out and put a bed in back, then go camping in it lol.

I like my tiny, fast car.

EDIT: Yeah, we use the van because it has AWD. You don't see many small cars up there though. You need a lot of power to get around up there.

Dead Star 01-24-2006 03:41 PM

'97 Ford Escort. Not great, but it works well enough.

I plan on getting something real nice when I'm older...just because.

Insurance companeys seem to think that all kids around here are boy racers and will always crash, so bump the prices up, when infact the majority of us are scared of crashing because we'll loose no cliams, and stuff.

Someone had the registration 'Bari G' on their car today, I tried to take a picture but pulled my camera away too quick.

Speaking of cameras, does anyone know what to look for in a good camera? I dont mean cheap digital cameras, btw.

Depends on what you want to use it for.

Long range viewing.
Im not going to spend £500 on a camera, I just want to know whats available.

B 01-24-2006 04:04 PM

So, expensive digital cameras?

More megapixels is always good, but not really necessary unless you plan on taking huge pictures. I'm not big on cameras so I don't know tons about them. Megan (in the pit, um.. lil drummer girl I think) knows lots I think, so maybe make a thread there, or in media center I guess.

Only things i can think of try and get as high a megapixel as you can, and try and get the flash as far awa from the lens as posible.

If you want to do long range digital photography you're gonna want to spend lots because resolution is going to be the biggest thing by far. You might be better off buying an actual film camera for that.

ChodaBoy 01-24-2006 04:08 PM

KK, thanks for the advice.

Permanent Solution 01-24-2006 04:14 PM

By the way, for the long range do you mean for like vast vistas...or do you want to be far away but taking pics that appear to be closer? Because if so you'll also want a good Optical Zoom on a digital, or a telephoto lens on a film.

Untitled 01-24-2006 04:14 PM

You wanna come to the F1 and take pretty car pictures.

Ah ok. In that case a telephoto lens is probably not necessary (though always useful and fun). For a digital though, be sure to look at the Optical Zoom as opposed to the Digital zoom. It maintains the resolution while zooming as opposed to lowering the resolution to take the pic.

Untitled 01-24-2006 04:22 PM

Get a good optical zoom. Digital zoom is awefull. Also, get a big screen if your going for digital, itll make it easier to see the object ahemplaneahem in the distnace.

Yeah, Digital, the image stays the same size, but it zooms in on a section of that image, and pixalates it and stuff.

Like if you zoom in on a picture in paint, but in a camara.

ChodaBoy 01-24-2006 04:28 PM

It would be primarily used for close ups of planes, but also just for general use.

I'm about to go to hockey. I haven't scored in soooo long, so I hope I can rack up the points tonight. I just feel theres too much pressure on me because I'm the Captain and easily in the top 3 players on the team, and I haven't been performing well as of late
