metalcore gets a bad rap
I grew up listening to traditional thrash and then moved on to death, so I am a bit new to the metalcore scene. like most other sub-genres of metal it has so many crappy bands that drag it down; however, I think the best metalcore bands play really great heavy metal and deserve recognition and appreciation.
My favorites are the usual suspects from Massachusetts (Klllswitch/Times of Grace, All That Remains, Shadows Fall, and Unearth) and then I also get psyched for As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, Caliban, Darkest Hour, Misery Signals, The Sorrow, and Parkway Drive. I also love Threat Signal but am not sure what kind of metal they play -- sounds like a thrash/metalcore hybrid but what the hell do I know? |
