As long as I like them it's all good.

Why didn't you make that thread about acoustic bands? I was looking forward to it. |
I love acoustic music. I gave a bum 2 dollars today because he was plaing mad solos on an acoustic guitar. He was so cool. I was all like "Man that was sweet" and he was like "thanks kid".

Some acoustic is just crap. Others is really good.(Jason Mraz, Howie Day) |

Naw, mellowish regular music. Clean guitars, bass, drums, all of it. I think. It's been forever though, and I never managed to actualy get an album. I'm a very, very lazy man. http://www.purevolume.com/kevindevine I've been listening to him constantly for the past week. Really, really nice acoustic. Listen to Ballgame. And these guys: http://server2.hxcmp3.com/bands/526/index.php |
I was more implying acoustic pop-punk/indie. I enjoy early Dahsboard stuff, The Spill Canvas is good. I know I'm forgetting another one that I like a lot.
Edit: to Tjebby |

I tend to stick to pop-punk and other genres derived from punk or metal. I listen to other music as well, but not by my own choice. I do like bands outside those genres though. I listen to other stuff at friends houses and with my parents and their friends. I like pretty much everything. man i just got back from seeing the spill canvas.
i <3 that band. Thank you Jon for whoring them to me |
I saw the Spill Canvas a few weeks ago. They were really good but the people around me sucked, so I didn't have that much fun. :(
I'm kind of that way with live music. A year or two ago at a little band camp I was going to, they had a kind of "assembly" where a drum-and-bass band played. The bassist was probably the best I ever heard in my entire life, and at some points he was hammering on the bass with one hand and doing keyboard chords with the other. It was jaw dropping amazing. I loved it. I downloaded some stuff by the same guy when I got home later, and I was bored listening to it. Just kind of uninteresting. Today I went to a family reunion kind of thing. My uncles are all musicians, so they picked up some acoustic guitars and started singing/playing a lot of old songs. I recognized some of the songs. I'd listened to them in my dads car at some point. They were all boring and crappy songs, because I hate old stuff. With my uncles playing it live though, and my whole family singing along, it was a lot of fun. Everything sounded really cool, and my uncle did some pretty sweet solos. (Just thought I'd give two examples) |

I find live music to be a lot more exciting. Just like you said, some things are awesome live, and you listen to it after and it sucks. The setting really changes everything.

I've found this to be thw case with a couple bands I saw recently. One was I Am The Avalanche, and the other was the Epoxies. I don't really like either on CD, but both are really good live. |
Live music is either really good or really bad. FSF and Days Away were unintresting and boring when I saw them, but Mewithoutyou was superb(differnent shows btw). And like, live music is sweet because half is improv and technique and stuff, whereas in the studio, you just go in and record what you wrote. You don't really play for the crowd, or go off their energy like you can live.

electric, but they used a lot of clean guitar. they put on a really good show and the venue was really intimate so there was a lot of energy |

I enjoy what I've heard from IATA but I don't think I've even listened to the whole cd yet. |

Electric Spill Canvas is lame as hell. Gimme their acoustic stuff any day. |

Eh, I didn't like it at first, but their live show was actually enough to make me enjoy it. The Epoxies are just good live. I still don't think I really like them much on CD. |
