It should stay there.

If you want to be safe, just export your library. Then make sure the file structure is the same and it'll be 100% there on the new iTunes. But yeha, it should be there. Album art is typically attached to ID3 info.

Exporting the library won't work because all of the directories will change.

Not if you maintain the same file-structure.

i was gonna ask a similar question

what if i moved all my music to a new computer and installed last.fm onto that computer AND imported my library so that it didnt reset the play counts. would last.fm keep my previous play counts and re scrobble them so that if i had 11K play i would now have 22K or would it reset it on the website too

last.fm only does the itunes scrobble history thing when you do it with a new count or you reset your plays as far as i know

actually it all depends on how he got the album art. If he did the iTunes automatic album art thing then he'll probably lose it, but if he did it manually then he should be good.
