hahahahaha, youre such a douche

worst user ever

AHandfulOfSweatpants 03-10-2010 12:09 PM

Yeah blooz, those are some pretty terrible bands. Animosity is choice metal, though the guys themselves are pretentious douches (When they played here they destroyed my girlfriend's house after we provided food and shelter, though Frank and Navene stayed to clean up, thanks guys!).

Pete 03-10-2010 12:11 PM

plasmarifle is fcking sweet though, gotta give him that

AHandfulOfSweatpants 03-10-2010 12:20 PM

Not a fan of TPR, but to each his own. I just find them to be another overproduced, overtly-spastic-without-enough-substance-plethora-of-breakdowns band. Huh, just read Animosity broke up last year. Oh well.

Pete 03-10-2010 12:28 PM

i like that kinda noise though. wouldn't call them deathcore, but either way i think theyre sweet. quebecoise grind is the sh¡t

AHandfulOfSweatpants 03-10-2010 12:32 PM

That's good, if everyone liked the same sh!t this would be a pretty boring-a$$ world! They just aren't my cup of tea; plus I'm just not a fan of anything Yannick St Amand masters. The drums on the albums he worked on lack any type of organic feeling whatsoever, and I just can't get into that.

Pete 03-10-2010 12:35 PM

ironically, i am a big fan of the bands he's associated with, Ion Dissonace, Despised Icon et all are some of my favorite bands =]

(the) Plasmarifle, yes. ADBOK is about on par with Whitechapel, the other ones, just no.

If I'm gonna listen to something like TAIM and such, I'd rather listen to old JFAC or KOTA.
Animosity, Rifles At Recess, Veil of Maya, Glass Casket, Whitechapel and All Shall Perish is all the deathcore I really listen to any more.
List needs more Embrace The End, The Damascus Intervention, and The End Of Six Thousand Years. :o

AHandfulOfSweatpants 03-10-2010 12:44 PM
ironically, i am a big fan of the bands he's associated with, Ion Dissonace, Despised Icon et all are some of my favorite bands =]
Lol, yeah, I dunno, something about the drums that really turns me off to those bands. Don't get me wrong, I've given the music from all of those bands a chance, because I don't want to be a small-minded nincompoop who voices their opinion without having at least heard what they have to offer. It's like when I argue with a fundamentalist about the Bible's flaws and realize I know more about it then them :)

no problem, and i totally get what you mean, he triggers the living sh¡t out of those poor drums. i don't especially mind it (in that kind of music anyway), but i get that it could bug some

AHandfulOfSweatpants 03-10-2010 12:53 PM

It only bugs me because I love hearing flaws in the recordings, it reminds me that I'm actually listening to someone blast the hell out of a kit, and not a sampled loop of fills that was pieced together a la pro-tools. I know I'm generalizing, but it just seems like most of the stuff that comes out nowadays follows this trend. Lol, I feel like I'm one of those old guys reminiscing about teh "good ol' days" of recording, back when it was just us and a 4-track, and an outhouse.

witchxrapist 03-10-2010 12:55 PM

Listen to Graves Of Valor, their drummer doesn't use triggers.

Pete 03-10-2010 12:57 PM
Listen to Graves Of Valor, their drummer doesn't use triggers.
p sure there isnt a single* recent day metal album that doesnt have a certain degree of triggering on their recordings

*i exaggerate

AHandfulOfSweatpants 03-10-2010 12:58 PM

It's not the triggers I don't like, it's the method of production, and how everything is sampled. It's that "organic-ness" that I'm talking about.

AHandfulOfSweatpants 03-10-2010 01:00 PM

Hahaha, GoV sound a lot like my old band, lol.

Yeah add Embrace the End and End of Six Thousand years too. And GOV, but they're more straight up DM now arguably.

Not listened to The Damascus Intervention though.

Endangered Oddity 03-10-2010 01:05 PM

Dead Man in Reno needs to be added as well.

2muchket! 03-10-2010 01:06 PM

This isn't a definitive list of deathcore.

This is just my preferences SON

Pete 03-10-2010 01:07 PM

witchxrapist 03-10-2010 01:11 PM

Yes.

Pete 03-10-2010 01:12 PM

sh¡t sounds good, melodic and whatnot

witchxrapist 03-10-2010 01:15 PM

Yah, and they have some grind-y parts.

2muchket! 03-10-2010 01:17 PM

Taking a listen on their myspace.

I am impressed actually.

AHandfulOfSweatpants 03-10-2010 01:19 PM
LINK
http://www.myspace.com/thedeepmusic Enjoy! We wrote the tunes on this myspace back in 2006, so that's why they may sound amateur-ish. The drummer and myself have another project in the works that's going to be frakking awesome.

witchxrapist 03-10-2010 01:22 PM

Pretty good.

These are the deathcore things me and my friends were doing back then. I did vox.

http://myspace.com/karlmarxband

Our recordings are nowhere near as good. :c

3rd song on the OTDB myspace is loooool bad, second song we ever wrote.

Pete 03-10-2010 01:23 PM
