Yeah, but aren't the Powertab sounds just MIDI sounds like GP 4?

Yep. It's harder to use imo, than PT. Guitar Pro ftw. Sounds waayy better.

scenesfromatheater 12-16-2005 05:03 PM

When I got Powertab ages ago it was only guitar tabs you could veiw and was really hard to use. Is it any better now?

Jev 12-16-2005 05:15 PM

You could always view bass tabs. You have to click the bass clef.
I find GP really hard to use. Although Powertabs doesn't have drums unless you have a program to make them.

scenesfromatheater 12-16-2005 05:16 PM

Hey, how long you had over 10,000 posts? I never noticed.

scenesfromatheater 12-16-2005 05:20 PM

Awsome, I've finally got the whole of the Awake demos. It's cool cause it's the same songs but without the annoying triggered drums.

powertabs, you can see guitar, bass, keys, other instruments written out for guitar. and yes it's in MIDI. drums can be added in w/ a separate program.

yale just deferred me early action :(

Triangle 12-17-2005 04:57 AM
6:00 and Caught in a Web are my two least favourite songs on the album.
Seriously, The Mirror into Lie live is so good. Very heavy I must say. :p

Sorry to hear about that. Most of my friends applied to Ivy league schools and have been deffered. What other schools did you apply to?

Lord Abortion 12-17-2005 11:24 AM

I like the chorus to caught in a web...the innocence faded one sounds similar to me.

The chorus in Caught in a Web is very good. I find it catchy, but not in an annoying way.

scenesfromatheater 12-18-2005 10:13 AM

The keyboards at the start are aload of rubbish.

GenuineImitation 12-18-2005 10:14 AM

I like the keyboards in the intro. What do you not like about them?

scenesfromatheater 12-18-2005 10:15 AM

They just sound awful. They don't go with the backing at all...and I think I know more about music than Dream Theater.

GenuineImitation 12-18-2005 10:21 AM

Lord Abortion 12-18-2005 10:43 AM

GenuineImitation 12-18-2005 10:49 AM

Thats cool. I did regular decision to NYU, Boston University, Rutgers University, George Washington University, Hofstra University, Villanova and a few state schools. New York state schools aren't too bad.
Ok, but what covers are they?
1. A Change of Seasons
2. Funeral For a Friend/ Love Lies Bleeding
3. Perfect Strangers
4. The Rover/ Achilles Last Stand/ The Song Remains the Same
5. The Big Medley

There ye go.

I think Labries vocals on the covers are some of the best live vocals I've heard from him.

ghettoeddo 12-18-2005 10:26 PM

who are the covers on ACOS originally by?

eighty d 12-18-2005 10:31 PM

funeral for a friend/love lies bleeding - elton john
perfect strangers - deep purple
the rover/achilles last stand/the song remains the same - led zeppelin
the big medley - pink floyd, kansas, queen, journey, dixie dregs, genesis

ghettoeddo 12-19-2005 12:51 AM

^ sounds awesome to me...i should pick it up.

Lord Abortion 12-19-2005 10:09 AM

Perfect strangers is a great cover, that's the one they do for the Nightmare Cinema song, too isn't it?

Jev 12-19-2005 11:06 AM

I don't really like the covers on ACOS at all.

GenuineImitation 12-19-2005 02:40 PM

What pink floyd song is in the medley?
