Xentrix anyone? Just got For Who's Advantage? off slsk and man, great stuff, reminicent of Justice era 'tallica

RavenousMetalist87 10-28-2004 11:56 PM

^ sounds like it's worth a listen to :D

JMetallica 10-29-2004 02:36 AM

I downloaded their albums a while back. I don't think it sounds too much like AJFT, though. It's just fun rockin thrash like Mortal Sin or sacred reich. Infact they sound almost identicle to Mortal Sin, i think. The vocals are only a slight varience for those of Mortal Sin, and the music even less so.

Definitely worth a listen though.

just found out that Chuck Billy sang for exodus on the san francisco date of the megadeth tour, very cool.

I heard Chuck was the original vocalist for Exodus before Paul Baloff was.

Unless my brain sucks...lol but that is kickass that Chuck filled in for vocals. I am still waiting patiently for word on the new Testament album.

xentrix are great one of the best british thrash bands, i tried to get roadrunner to re-release their albums as 2 from the vault but they said there wasnt enough demand so igot a few more people to write in but nothing yet :(

UnknowN Doodl3.2 10-29-2004 02:24 PM
Huh, I just heard their stuff on BMR and thought how they sounded like a brutaler version of Torture Squad. In other words, they kick equal amounts of rear and testicle. I couldn't find anything on SLSK though. Looks like we'll have to organize a trade ;)
I think I know what BMR stands for (blackmetal radio,,,I think) but what is SLSK?

metal-militia 10-29-2004 02:29 PM

SLSK is Soulseek

Nah. Steve Zetro used to be vocalist for Legacy/Testament for a few years however.

RavenousMetalist87 10-29-2004 10:55 PM

ohh well, I guess whoever told me that Chuck did vocals for Exodus once in the very far past was wrong.

:upset: I got pwned XD

SLATANIC-666 10-30-2004 08:31 AM

Seven churches came through the post this morning and i know its considred death metal but i think that it's more thrash and **** good thrash at that so i'm looking to get some more of their stuff. ideas anyone?

RCA 10-30-2004 08:43 AM

^Yes, If you can find it, go with "The Eyes of Horror" EP. :thumb:

metal-militia 10-30-2004 11:23 AM

^^

Also try Beyond the gates.

Has anyone here heard of Onslaught? I downloaded some of their stuff and its pretty good :thumb:

SLATANIC-666 10-30-2004 11:45 AM

Onslaught were my favourite British thrash band before Thrashmaster suggested Sabbat. Top quality stuff really, although a little sloppy early on in their career.

As for some possessed, Slatanic, get anything by them. Pretty much all of it rocks, and sure as hell none of it sucks. Check out Blind Illusion's 'Sane Asylum'.. Larry Lalonde from possessed played for them and although he wasnt the main contributor, they sound similar to possessed. Frenetic thrash with progressive elements that don't take away from the thrash. :D

Apocalyptic Raids 10-31-2004 12:49 AM

larry lalonde plays guitar for primus does he not?

FatalEnergy 10-31-2004 06:17 PM

yeah, but he used to be in Possessed

Shady Ultima 10-31-2004 08:29 PM

Any news lately on the new Slayer album?
I haven't been in here in awhile, so anyone know when its supposed to come out? Or the DVD?

RCA 10-31-2004 09:07 PM

I think that new DVD is out already, but I'm not sure.

ThrashMaster27 10-31-2004 10:02 PM

The Still Reigning DVD is out as of tomorrow. I won't be buying it mind you, but it'd be worth a watch.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-31-2004 10:08 PM

ill buy it, mostly becasue the setlist is SO much better than War At The Warfield.

ThrashMaster27 10-31-2004 10:15 PM

You really think so? I think The War At The Warfield setlist is pretty decent. Could have included more from Show No Mercy, but having Die By The Sword, Chemical Warfare, Captor of Sin and Hell Awaits on there makes it decent enough to start with.

Plus as I always say I'm not a massive man of RiB, which doesn't mean I don't like it as some people seem to think.

manuscriptreplica 11-01-2004 06:24 AM

War of the Warfield has the fan section too, which is hilarious

LordDargon 11-01-2004 09:17 AM

Whoever asked about slsk, it's an excellent program for getting full metal albums, it's found at www.slsknet.org

DimebagDarrell 11-01-2004 09:30 AM

anyone seen the live intrusion video? i would reccomend that its not possible to get it on dvd though because its quite old. Check Jeff's wierd bright green and purple shorts

RCA 11-01-2004 03:51 PM

I've seen Live Intrusion, it was quite good :thumb:

I ordered a Testament and Dark Angel t-shirt today, should be in by next week.

NP: Venom - In Nomine Satanus

SLATANIC-666 11-01-2004 04:21 PM

I've just watched Still Reigning and it's awesome. I didn't even have to buy it, I sent my mom on an errand, well actually she agreed to go get it after 5 hours at gun point
Anyway, it seemed a lot more punkish to me and contrary to what i read in another thread, you can actually hear toms bass. His vocals were **** good aswell. But a lot of the solos were out, mainly on kerrys part, he seemed to play the same solo again and again almost like he'd forgotten or more likely, he's just lost it whereas jeff was outstanding aside from a few errors. The one thing i loved about it is that you get to see them play all the other classics from the album which they rarely played live up until recently and probably when they toured the album. They also have other assorted songs aswell like war ensemble, south of heaven and to my delight necrophiliac which i've always wanted to see be played live.
In conclusion it's money well spent.

SLATANIC-666 11-01-2004 04:26 PM

Oh and there's also a hot chick walking next to tom at the end of the show in a kind of like black meshed top. D@mn she's fine. If it's toms wife he's done well. I'm gonna mail the question on the fan site just to find out.

metal-militia 11-01-2004 04:42 PM

sounds good i may have to get that, plus there's the added bonus of a fit woman :naughty: Installed Soulseek today as well, and its the best thing ever made :)
