I love Harrison. He had an almost drastically diffrent writing style than the other Beatles. He really wrote some nice, warm songs with the group, as well as epics like While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I love happy Beatles songs like Here Comes the Sun and even some of the earlier songs like Paperback Writer and other songs from that era: not too early. THere's another one I really truly enjoy from that period whose name escapes me.

that is pretty random but I read it in te middle of making this post
My favorite Harrison songs have to be Taxman, If I Needed Someone, Something, Love You Too, and I Want To Tell You. If I Needed Someone has probably the sweetest hook/motif I've ever heard. His solo efforts are great too.
His solo efforts are great too.
123, All Things Must Pass is great.

JonG 12-30-2005 10:35 PM
Did you buy it?
Yes, of course :p I couldn't find it anywhere.

ATMP is a good album. I probably like Brainwashed better though. It's amazing.

clown_phobia 12-30-2005 10:37 PM

Do you think Paul or John had a better 'rock and roll' voice?

JonG 12-30-2005 10:38 PM

I prefer Paul, but George is my favorite Beatle overall.

TheDMV 12-30-2005 10:39 PM
Do you think Paul or John had a better 'rock and roll' voice?
Paul truly had one of the best screams ever.

La Revolucion 12-30-2005 10:53 PM

John definitely has the better "rock" voice, he's got an edge to his that Paul doesn't.

JonG 12-30-2005 11:00 PM

I'm obsessed with Riders on the Storm. It's such a good song.

:\

I've also listened to The Harder They Come twice already today :)

That's such an awesome CD

I think you have your names mixed up. Listen to Helter Skelter and tell me John's voice is has more edge.

I Like it when people praise the Allmans, it's what keeps me living.
And if you thought the 33-minute "Mountain Jam" on Eat a Peach was extensive, you need to hear Ludlow's 44-minute version, which comprises the entire second CD. --Marc Greilsamer
I think that's what he was talking about. :)
Paul truly had one of the best screams ever.
Is he the one who seemed to scream before every guitar solo?

Yea, well I fixed it

Man, I was not even aware that both of those even existed

np: Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA (dammit, I'm not ashamed to say that the Boss isn't half bad)

JonG 12-31-2005 12:54 AM

I can't stand Bruce Springsteen :x

np: Elliott Smith - Needle In The Hay

Krabsworth 12-31-2005 12:55 AM

What about Rick Springfield? He is horrible.

gmoneyguy 12-31-2005 12:56 AM

Im pretty neutral on springsteen.

I dont know because I do want jessi's girl

PinkFreud 12-31-2005 12:59 AM

bleh. i dislike bruce springsteen. i also HATE it when people call him the boss casually. "what's wrong with the boss?" "you dont like the boss? i love the boss." "what am i doing? just listening to the boss."

itd be like people calling paul mccartney "macca" all the damn time.

np: Elliott Smith - Needle In The Hay
When I go used CD shopping, I always find a crap load of his CDs. I dont think that is a good sign.

Leper 12-31-2005 01:03 AM

Personally I can't stand Bruce Springsteen, but that's just me. I was nearly in agony when my work had his Christmas song (I'm assuming it's called Merry Christmas Baby) playing. It had Happy Xmas/War is Over though, so I was ok with it in all.

EDIT: Evidently I'm not alone on this topic...

Illmatic 12-31-2005 01:03 AM

What's wrong with The Boss? :p

In all seriousness, I guess I can see why someone wouldn't like him.

NP: Eric B and Rakim - Microphone Fiend

jpj 12-31-2005 01:04 AM

Yea, I generally can't stand Bruce Springsteen.

On a completely unrelated note, Apocalypse Now may be my favorite movie of all time, top 5 easy.

JonG 12-31-2005 01:04 AM

It is a great movie.

Did you see Redux or the original?

The way the put "The End" in there is amazing.

Illmatic 12-31-2005 01:05 AM

Oh goodness I'm the only person who DOES like Bruce Springsteen

Redux, I'd like to see the original though. And yea, The End just fits so perfectly, it's amazing.

Leper 12-31-2005 01:20 AM

For some reason I have an urge to hear Schyma's opinion on Springsteen. He always finds new and exciting ways to say that he hates someone (assuming he hates him).

JonG 12-31-2005 01:20 AM

Now that you mentioned it, I'll probably buy it sometime with my gift card to Best Buy.

I like Marlon Brando.

PinkFreud 12-31-2005 01:23 AM

he's amazing in "a streetcar named desire." cant get much better than brando in his prime.

he has a surprisingly high pitched voice. higher than i imagined at first.

jpj 12-31-2005 01:27 AM

I haven't seen him in anything pre-Godfather, I don't think. I should probably put On the Waterfront and A Street Car Named Desire on my Netflix queue though.
