I didn't like the fact it was based on the Russian revolution. I had no interest in that, however it was cool how they related it.

It's called a satire/allegory; kind of the entire point of the story.

Haha. I guess I sounded a bit rude, but it didn't sound to me like you understood the point of the story. Sorry about that.

Braintoad did you get my email?

Brain Toad 01-09-2006 11:32 PM

Yeah, but the essay wasn't attached.

I suck at proofreading though man. With my essay I had a lot of help in class. My English class had this exercise where we'd get into groups of 4, read out essays to each other and get feedback orally, then we'd have to go home and given written feedback and it was extreamly helpful in letting me know what worked and didn't.

I can give you feedback like that and minor spelling/grammar stuff if you want.

holy_roller99 01-09-2006 11:36 PM

i just want some feedback on basic opinion of the writing and also the minor spelling and stuff. i did attach the essay though and i am kinda confused about the failure of the attachment. i will try and send it again tommorow.

It was far too blatantly obvious, i would have rathered animal farm if it was a lot more subtle. Orwell was such a fantastic writer, he could have made it much much better.

He had a lot to do with itinerant latino farmworker's rights, making sure that landowners didn't just rape them for work and then f'uck them off.

Go to filthy scum-yuppie developments and "borrow" their internet to download pron. Serves them right for being yuppies.

Haha, Kill the yuppies! Yeah I need to find a place to get the internet without a firewall so I can start using soulseek again! I'm at college and they have two firewalls blocking p2p programs etc... Plus they'll know straight away if I unblocked it!

RIP Ian Curtis 01-10-2006 04:16 AM

The must be a way to make a bandwidth "leech" from wireless connections. Like bury some little motherfu'cker in someones backyard and it just chews up width without actually downloading anything in particular, that would make my day, worthless yuppie scum, this will learn you good for building your fancy development across the road from me, and getting me arrested, and changing the speed limit down by like 30 ks.

Haha. Sounds like you have a problem with them! What speed have you got now? WTF did you get arrested for?

RIP Ian Curtis 01-10-2006 04:28 AM

Speed's gone down to 80 k's an hour, down from 110, I got taken to the station for vandalism (which, for once, I didn't do) and having a body part protruding from a moving vehicle (which I did do). But I just remembered the important lessons Hunter teaches us all, denyed it all until those motherfuc'kers gave up because they didn't have **** on me.

coheneran 01-10-2006 05:17 AM

Guess what I did last night?

Well, you never will, it is rather far-fetched. I spent hours in a harness suspended from a 15 foot tripod that was on the roof of a squatted cafe, itself 15 feet about the ground. So I spent the night suspended 30 feet (*checks calculator*) above ground in the middle of Hackney, so that if the cops came to evict us again, they would have a hell of a job getting me down, what with a cherry-picker etc.. And in the end the fu'ckers didn't come, and now my crack and groin are sore.

I suspect that no-one actually lives in there. Well not you anyway 'cause I highly doubt you'd be using a computer in a squatted cafe. Plus if you're squattin' how did you guys afford to hire a cherry picker?

I think you misunderstood. The whole story is, there was some corruption involved and the council sold land they didn't own to a filthy rich developer called Dr. Wratten. Now he is trying to evict a whole community (Broadway Market, Hackney, E5) to build a bunch of yuppie flats. So the whole local community (and some not-so-local people, like me) are working together to occupy Tony's Cafe (the place in the street that is under the biggest threat of eviction right now) until a proper investigation can take place. So we have gone to all sorts of measures. There are heavy barricades against the front wall (nothing a few cops with sledgehammers can't get through, but there are people waiting to resist passively inside) of the shop, and on the roof a local professional climber who (I'm guessing) has some experience with building fu'ckoff big tripods made out of metal pipes has built a fu'ckoff big tripod out of metal pipes, so that come eviction night (they've been evicted one before and the cafe demolished, but the community helped rebuild it) someone can scoot up the tripod, make themselves comfortable and settle in for a few hours. You see, the cops wouldn't dare touch that thing due to health and safety regulations, so they have to bring a cherry-picker to go and get down whoever is on top of the tripod. We got tipped off that they were preparing a hundred tactical riot police (basically Thatcher's boys in blue with a different name, they are thugs) so we barricaded down and I climbed up the tower. Here's the website for the struggle: http://34broadwaymarket.omweb.org/modules/wakka/HomePage
