And then theirs LST who is getting crazy post count because of this thread. Not saying that this is all that he posts in, in fact, he is pretty helpful in a lot of the threads I've seen him in. Just try to keep it down a bit. I know I'm a n00b around here, but it's just annoying seeing people with like, posts in the 1000's just saying "hey, sup?"

So while I was at uni, I was in the games lab and downloading Goldeneye:Source for Half-Life 2, and it downloaded at like 2000kb/s. So I'm wondering if anyone would notice if I download all my [size=2]sh[/size]it there and just dump it on an external harddrive, then bring it home to use...

I wish I could do that. I tried to download the Dark Messiah of Might and Magic demo thing the other day and after 10 minutes I was at .2 % or something.

DMoMaM Demo wasn't that great. Kinda like Oblivion, but it is fun kicking the baddies into spikes.

Also, try to keep your upload rate to like 10 or even 5 kb/s.

It speeds my d/ls up a ton.

My house's internet connection seems to have a cap of 140kb/s for stable, consistent connections.

It really sucks.

I'm just saying that I can't really go above that for any period longer than a few seconds.

I usually get around 90kbs for downloading from the interweb, 30kbs for download on soulseek, 130kbs for download from most mIRC bots, and anywhere from 1kbs to 140kbs with bittorrent.
