You really want a Who album, or are you yanking me?

If you do, get Tommy or The Who Sell Out. I doubt you'd like anything after Tommy.

Ye I was considering Sell Out.

I just may have to get Tommy on vinyl...
Where is Amanda? I haven't seen her for along time.
She's on restriction because her parents saw a certain part of the thread that they felt was... "inappropriate" for her. She's posting on the name Kaleidoscope Eyes whenever she can.

JonG 12-30-2005 04:06 PM

I got another gift certificate to Best Buy.

Don't know what CD's to buy though :\

Recommendations?

np: Jimmy Cliff - The Harder They Come

Great song.

Jacaranda 12-30-2005 04:06 PM

I know that :S but I ment on her Kaleidoscope name I haven't seen since like the start of December.

Crabwhatever, get Exile On Main Street its their best.

Get Exile On Main Street, Jon. Get it again.

JonG 12-30-2005 04:09 PM

Yeah, I probably will. It's only 8 bucks at this place I know.

Exile On Main Street is Rolling Stones isn't it? I already have it anyway...

JonG 12-30-2005 04:12 PM

Yes it is.

Damn Videora iPod Converter. It messes up the DVD's I try to get on my iPod.

Jacaranda 12-30-2005 04:13 PM

Oh, no Jon get a Brian Eno/Roxy Music album. Because then you could get on slsk and I could and you know... you could give it to me? :)

Glitterati 12-30-2005 04:15 PM
I got Folsom Prison by Johny Cash!
That's a super duper album. I got it for my birthday this year, really good. I like especially how nothing is cut out, i.e. you can hear everything in the background, so it gives it a really authentic feel.

np: The Smiths - Girlfriend In A Coma
There's nothing beautiful about Plant's voice - it's ELECTRIC.

Robert Plant is the best male vocalist because he owns a voice that MAKES you pay attention, to him, to the band, to the song, to the lyrics, to everything. Absolutely ELECTRIC.
No, he sounds like a woman version of Janis Joplin.

I think the Blues have completley escaped me as a musical genre I once loved. I don't know all of the Blues artists I once enjoyed are suddenly un-interesting and boring. (with the exception of Howlin' Wolf)

Took you long enough to figure that out.

The blues is a genre meant to be appreciated, but not really listened to. If that makes sense.
Took you long enough to figure that out.
You always act as if I'm the last to figure out something.

I can't get into Grace. :-/

Allman Brothers > everyone

Has anyone noticed that they came out with a 2 disc live set of 2 entire 1970 concerts? Allmusic says "after you listen to this version of "Mountan Jam" you can forget about the one on Eat A Peach". (or something along the lines of that) It makes really interested...anyone have it? Any good?

I can't listen to Jeff Buckley without feeling like a woman. There. I said it.

I think he's trying to say "You should respect the blues for it's reputatio, but you don't have to listen to it and enjoy it yourself."

amirite Ray?

Pretty much.

A lot of people pay lip service to the blues without actually listening to it, and I don't see anything wrong with that.

Woodstock 12-30-2005 05:03 PM

Ok, I thought you were saying something along the lines of, "You can't enjoy the blues, but only admire it." Gotcha.

Glitterati 12-30-2005 06:15 PM

Bumpasauras Rex.

Heart is a pretty cool band.

Seafroggys 12-30-2005 06:38 PM

I can't really listen to too much of hard blues, but blues rock (such as Cream) I absolutly love.

JonG 12-30-2005 07:10 PM

I like blues :)

I just got done listening to Earl Hooker and Eric Sardinas albums.

Cream is godly.

Disraeli Gears is not as good as I thought it would be, so I'm still a Fresh Cream kind of guy.

It would've been great if they would've named one of their albums,"Half-N-Half".

PinkFreud 12-30-2005 07:27 PM

or jugs. but that would only be great because the word jugs is hilarious.

Same here, I just bought Disraeli Gears today. Only $5.99 to!.

Nice

robo2448 12-30-2005 07:45 PM

I prefer Wheels of Fire to Disraeli Gears, Fresh Cream, and Goodbye. Pretty much just because of the live songs. All of Cream's albums have some crap on them. Their studio albums weren't all that consistent but the highlights outweigh the couple filler songs per album (usually Baker's contributions like Pressed Rat and Warthog or Blue Condition). Their studio albums were overshadowed by their performances but their still pretty good.

If you only buy their Greatest Hits though, you don't miss out on that many great songs.

I'm a Wheels of Fire guy through and through (same reasons as Robo.)

I'm a Cream guy in general.

Me too. I don't know if I could pick a favorite album. Although I agree on the "few bad songs per each album" thing.

PinkFreud 12-30-2005 08:14 PM

their live albums really dont have any flaws though, so thats good. especially since thats where they shine.
