There is also a typical sound for classic rock, and that sound is not garbage.

I have nothing constructive to add to the convo.

I've never heard a full album by them :( But I think Waterloo Sunset is one of the greatest pop songs ever written.

Yes, Schyma I think everyone went through there Kinks faze already. Village Green is great, Something Else is great, Arthur is great, Lola is great, Face to Face is great, they are all great! Now stop your whoring of Ray Davies and the Kinks plzkthxs. Go back to Syd! :P

EDIT: Oh shi, your whoring worked I now have a hakerin to listen to Village Green.

EMH how did you get that 2 line usertitle?

Glitterati 12-28-2005 11:53 PM

I'm listening to a truly awful cover of Stuck In The Middle With You.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 12-29-2005 12:04 AM
It's a genre of music. The 60's and 70's wasn't all classic rock. Dont forget stuff like disco and funk.
However, groups like Sly & the Family Stone and Funkadelic and discussed here...

if the 80s are classic rock, what are the 60s then? ancient classical pop?

The '80s can be split into two different categories. The "Just What I Needed" category and the "Girls, Girls, Girls" category.

Rap is too crappy to get a category.

I would place Village Green, with Wouldn't It Be Nice and a few other songs (that I can't think of right now) in the happy but to me personally have a subtle darkness about them. I dunno if any one follows that.

JonG 12-29-2005 12:35 AM

Angel of Death is a pretty happy song for me.

PinkFreud 12-29-2005 12:49 AM
