nah, people need to get off that Symbolic ****. its a great album but imo their worst. Individual Thought Patterns was the last "real" Death album to me. The others start hinting in that Control Denied direction. (which is great too, but not Death)

yeah. 1995 was when Chuck started wanting to go in another direction so that kinda leaked into Symbolic territory a bit as well which may be a reason i'm not as big on those as much as the earlier albums. you're right though, both are amazing, i prefer TSOP though.

I used to love Crimson. since you like it so much check out Dawn of Dreams by Pan.Thy.Monium, swano's old band. pretty good stuff, much weirder than Edge of Sanity. ie baritone sax and no actual lyrics just swano using his voice

well it wasn't meant to be Control Denied literally. but because of contract obligations Chuck was forced to release more Death work. but still, you can tell it's the bridge to The Fragile Art of Existence.thats to the best of my knowledge at least. i'm too lazy to look up interviews and back my posts up with 100% factual information.
