the breakdown at the end of coming to grips is brutal as **** on the ep... but its way too short. it only lasts like 10 seconds :(

hismajestythepope 10-17-2008 01:27 PM

that song could do without the clean singing imo

botb 10-17-2008 01:34 PM

its well executed but the chorus is layered so hard vocalwise. theres cleans, highs, and lows going on all at the same time.

hismajestythepope 10-17-2008 01:35 PM

it sounds better in the demo version without the cleans
ive been really digging them for a a few months. Expectants is a killer album, the guitars on it are some of the best in deathcore
yeah, ive been listening to it for about a year (ie, since it came out), one of those overlooked bands that are really good

too bad no one on these forums actually listen to other people's recommendations, or else they would be more liked around here

Takes about 1 minute to start up, but the wait is worth it.

hismajestythepope 10-19-2008 09:37 PM

ugh **** that non-metal intro bs

theyre seriously so good, sucks their singer blows live

beans 10-20-2008 01:17 AM

song doesnt even sound that good tbh

hismajestythepope 10-20-2008 01:22 AM

i thought it was badass

beans 10-20-2008 01:24 AM

idk, just sounds kinda meh, the intro seemed really unnecessary
their other stuff sounds great though

adb 10-20-2008 01:36 AM

I like how I was talking about the new Burning the Masses song to Volt a few days ago, and he totally ignores it, and talks about it now

It's a good song, the vocalist is just a downgrade and he's barely passable.

hismajestythepope 10-20-2008 01:38 AM

the vocalist is a HUGE downgrade.

also, i love how adb cares that much about such petty things.

beans 10-20-2008 01:39 AM

i love how my pee is green

hismajestythepope 10-20-2008 01:43 AM

hismajestythepope 10-20-2008 01:49 AM

Dimmu Burger 10-20-2008 06:22 AM

So I saw Beneath The Massacre and After The Burial the other day.

Beneath The Massacre was amazing. I saw them before with Behemoth and they performed very well and were very tight, but had no stage presence. This time they flailed around the stage like they were on fire or something, it was nuts. They play some pretty techy stuff and were still very energetic, I was very impressed. They're also hella nice guys. They gave me the wrong size t-shirt last time I saw them (which was almost a year ago) and I brought it to this show and they let me exchange it. Also there was a huge crowd there and they all acted like BtM was their favorite band or something. I had no idea they had gotten that popular, especially after last time I saw them, when nobody seemed to care. Lots of people dancing etc, it was very cool.

After The Burial still doesn't have much stage presence, but were still much better than when I saw them last month on the Thrash And Burn tour. They have a new singer, who is much better and more entertaining. They play 8 string guitars, if you didn't know, and play lots of Meshuggah rip off juns. The one guitarist was kind of annoying, wearing khakis and a polo shirt and not moving barely at all the whole time. He kind of acted like he was awesome and we should all suck his c*ck or something. The crowd really loved these guys, which suprised me even more than BtM, cause these guys aren't as good.

I also caught Architects that night too, but I'll talk about them in the metalcore thread.

HighandDriving 10-20-2008 07:57 AM

To The Metalcore Thread!
