Yeah everyone only talks about how much of an asshole Dave was but no one talks about what a nice guy he can be sometimes.

When he feels like it.

With the comparison between James and Mustaine...

Mustains voice is horrible on a huge ammount of song. I heard that ...Peace Sells and Who's Buying was one of their best albums. It had some good songs, but the whole album was pretty much ruined by how horrible Dave's voice sounded on the album.

I can sometimes handle Dave's vocals and actually like them, but just on that whole album it was extremely horrible to hear. I don't even know what it is about his voice that I dislike, it's just not too great on my ears.

James- I like his vocals because, again I don't even know. He isn't the best vocals, but I could understand him quite easily. It was extremely easy to get into his voice because of how melodic the songs were behind (Nothing else Matters, Fade to Black, My Friend of Misery). He has a really calm voice and a really horrible St. Anger Rhaspy voice which is horrible.

Either way, James>Dave- voice wise.

Dave's voice does grow on you. How long you been listening to 'Deth?

vashts80 11-27-2005 02:26 PM

Megadave is a much more consistent singer. His voice was going high live, but now it's back to normal, compared to Hetfield who can't sing decently anymore live at all.

True. Although sometimes when he sings songs like Devil's Island you can hear a difference.
Dave's voice does grow on you. How long you been listening to 'Deth?
I have been listening them for a year or two now. Pretty long, but his voice still hasn't grown on me much. I like a lot of their later albums than their earlier stuff...

Quickdrop 11-27-2005 04:25 PM

the old stuff as a band is better. But daves vocals are better in the more recent stuff.

AB/CD 11-27-2005 05:39 PM

dave went to rehab 13 times each time to get over drugs never to help people and he wasnt too ****ed up to play and sing on sfsgsw it was just for the cover he done of no more mister nice guy

What? he can't sing decently any more? That's BS I saw him live this time last year amd he was great. And he had been on tour for quite some time at that point. Did you hear the recent show?

ehhhhhh......I would say Rust in Peace is their most famous album.

Get Rust in peace, So Far So Good So What, Peace sells, Killing is my business.... hell just get em all except for risk.

Britton 11-27-2005 11:09 PM

I would agree that RIP is there most famous. It's one of my favorite thrash albums ever too

Chu 11-28-2005 02:08 AM

So Far, So Good, So What! is better then Rust in Peace, I think :p
Love them both though..

Dave's voice has totally grown on me too, it was the one thing initially that stopped me from listening to them, but after a while I just didn't care, in fact, I find a lot of 'Deth songs to be rather catchy, and probably wouldn't be so without Dave singing.

I agree, at first I didn't think anything could touch RIP but now I like SFSGSW better.

Aw3someman 11-28-2005 01:43 PM

One of my favs by dave is Symphony of Destruction. I love that song and Take no Prisoners

I know that when I first heard it I said, "Metalli-who?". LOL. Seriously though, I instantly fell in love with the band.

I was like that the first time I heard Hangar 18 (the first megadeth song I heard). It was the live one from Rude Awakening, so I was like  So i went out and bought RIP, the rest as they say is history....cheesy ++++

I'd only heard holy wars and Hangar 18. I bought it expecting not much and every track made me go

I forget, was it lucretia or tornado of souls where it has this weird natural harmonic intro?

Tornado of souls. Then it has the uber cool fast-ish riff after it. I shall play that now. /comences playing

I just realized that I have the guitar book in my backpack. My ditsyness never ceases to amaze me.:amaze:

Aw3someman 11-28-2005 02:46 PM

Tornado of souls has really awesome vocals too.
I love the speed of Take no Prisoners which is one of the best songs on RiP after Holy Wars and Hangar. IMO In RiP its:(in order from Godlike to Amazingly cool)
1. Holy Wars... The Punishment is Due
2. Hanger 18 (don't know why they spell it like that it should be "hangar 18
")
3. Take No Prisoners
4. Tornado of Souls
5. Rust in Peace... Polaris
6. Lucretia (such a badass intro)
7. Poison was the Cure
8. Dawn Patrol (It's short but still a pretty cool song w/ a nice bass line)
9. Five Magics (The chorus just pisses me off every time)

Father_Jack 11-28-2005 02:52 PM

I thought it was Hangar 18?

Aw3someman 11-28-2005 02:54 PM

No on my CD it's written as Hanger 18

Father_Jack 11-28-2005 02:58 PM
No on my CD it's written as Hanger 18
Weird. On www.megadeth.com it's Hangar. Silly megadeth lads need to get they act together.

Britton 11-28-2005 03:08 PM

Lol oops mispelled

That's funny. it would be funnier if they mispelled Megadeth

The tickets at a gig over here were spelt Megadeath.

Aw3someman 11-28-2005 04:25 PM

I was taking a look at megadeth.com and when is the Gigantatour or whatever. Is it over? cause i am pretty far behind right now on Megadeth's status.

How could you miss it?
It'll be back next year anyway.

smart blockhead 11-28-2005 04:56 PM

I bought KIMB...ABIG over the break, I like it a lot. I bought CTE before that though and I didn't really think that was very good.

smart blockhead 11-28-2005 06:28 PM

Are there any albums that are really good besides KIMB, PSBWB, and RIP?

ThrashMaster27 11-28-2005 06:32 PM

You'll most likely enjoy So Far, So Good...So What? if you liked them 3. I'm also one that doesn't enjoy Countdown To Extinction that much. It's very low down on my Megadeth list.

MotliestDude8 11-28-2005 07:32 PM

The good thing about vegas is most bands come by there and if Megadeth goes on tour they probaly come to vegas and im goin

iluvkirkhammett 11-28-2005 07:34 PM

Does anyone know if they're planning on coming to Australia any time soon? I'd love to see them live.

They were here in April.

Doubt you'll see them for a while now.
