how could you spend over £15 on a CD!?

Act III is the cheapest Death Angel to buy anyway, so its not a problem if its not on the boxset
I was bored, I hadn't bought an album in over a week and I didn't want my journey to be a waste :p
But I know what you're saying, 15 fucking quid!!!! God**** HMV!
Ah well it's not the most I've ever spent on a single album.

NP: Slayer - The Antichrist

RCA 02-13-2005 06:01 PM

Everyone, get "Thrashing Warthogs" by Delirium Tremens. REALLY insane, brutal thrash.

NP: Children of Bodom - Downfall
What would you guys say the best Sodom albums is?
Tough one. I'd go with Persecution Mania, but Agent Orange is also an f'n great album. If you like your thrash brutal though, go with Tapping The Vein.

ForiegnPenguin 02-13-2005 06:18 PM

Art of Dying is great.

RavenousMetalist87 02-13-2005 08:50 PM
Pleasure to Kill is far and away the best Kreator. Get them both though.

The Ultra Violence is by far the best Death Angel. Get that.

Oh yeah, and The Legacy beats The New Order hands down.
Yes it does, but TNO has it's good moments too

I got Reign of Terror (Live 1987) on the rare EP titled Live In Eidenhoven (sp?). I don't remember how it's spelled, but it's somewhere in Europe. It sounds ****ty...but eh...1987 didn't have high tech recording quality.

I also got ahold of Darkness Descends and Agent Orange off of SoulSeek. I have to say...Darkness Descends kicks my *** over and over. Agent Orange is really good. In fact, I got bored yesterday and wrote the first 2 sections of lyrics to Remember The Fallen on my jacket, along with Masked Jackal's first verse and chorus. Don't ask me why...I just decided it would be nice to show people how the music and listen to and my opinions on issues relate, which is what I did.

Alright, so I officially hate to say this, but I'm becoming more interested in music quality, but still crave the extreme and brutal feeling of thrash. In other words, I think Pleasure to Kill was both of that, but I still say I personally like Frank's touch on Coma of Souls a lot. Either way, thrash is thrash. Some of it is heavy, some of it is technical, some of it is more complex and difficultly structured. Either way, I personally do my best to accept all thrash albums, even if no one here gets what I'm saying XD

I guess that means I'm not tr00

RCA 02-14-2005 05:40 PM

^I've got nothing to add, other than that I'm wearing a TNO shirt.

NP: Motorhead - Iron Fist

metal-militia 02-14-2005 05:51 PM

Went into Londom today and the massive HMV there :D

i got F&J - No Place for Disgrace
Whiplash - Power and Pain/Ticket to Mayhem

RavenousMetalist87 02-14-2005 06:54 PM

DARK ANGEL: 'Reunion' Video Footage Posted Online - Feb. 14, 2005

Video footage of DARK ANGEL's "reunion" gig in 2002 has been posted online at StudioCam.org. The clip, which was shot on September 30, 2002 at the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana, California (with KREATOR and DESTRUCTION as the headliners), is about four minutes long and features the band — guitarists Jim Durkin and Eric Meyer, vocalist Ron Rinehart, drummer Al "Mayhem" Mendez and bassist Jeremy Peto (ex-MORGION) — performing "The Burning of Sodom", the second song off DARK ANGEL's classic second album "Darkness Descends". You can watch the video at http://www.studiocam.org/dream/channel_MV.htm

PS: Why is it Slayer day?

metal-militia 02-15-2005 05:42 AM

woah nice :)

I'm hoping maybe we will see the Darkness Returns album soon.

Is it just me, or are anyone else's avatars all messed up? Also, MX wasn't working for me all day yesterday.

ArcLite 02-15-2005 06:48 AM

The database corrupted...See the announcement at the top. Anyway, I've heard of Delirium Tremens, may have to check them out.

RCA 02-15-2005 01:27 PM

Well, I'm here in my school's library, posting on MX and not doing my project I'm supposed to be doing. WOOOOOO!!!!!!

Dargon, I was going to edit my post and say thanks for recommending me that Delirium Tremens, but the database was screwed over. So, thanks for the recommendation. :)

Vio-lence: GREAT find! The video owns.

metal-militia: Darkness Returns got pushed back I heard, but it should be out by the end of this year.

SLATANIC-666 02-15-2005 01:29 PM

Yes, just look what happened to my Schizophrenia avatar! :p

After a while I gave up trying to get on thinking it would probably be a database error, then it worked again, I butchered a recent post in here because of it then it stopped working for me again then I managed to get back on to check it hadn't duplicated my post a dozen times  .

And if what Ravenous Metalist is saying is correct then I guess happy SLAYER day ;)

NP: Sodom - Bombenhagel

metal-militia 02-15-2005 02:19 PM

Argghhhhh my avatar! :upset:

I really wish i'd bought Sabbat in London now, and so far i've listened to Power and Pian by Whiplash, and most of F&J. Buy them now.

Happy Slayer day :p

I choose not to celebrate this day.

So what's been in my world of thrash these days... nothin' I guess. Haven't bought a thrash album for months now.

Deconstruction 02-15-2005 02:23 PM

I am back...so if i were to sell my cover of Cryptic Writings would anyone here buy it and then give me another album to cover?

LordDargon 02-15-2005 02:23 PM

I don't know where he got this "Slayer Day" stuff from but uh...

NP: Slayer - Black Magic

And, anyone besides M-M like Darkness?

Deconstruction 02-15-2005 03:10 PM

Anyone want to do a internet based cover of a thrash band. I play guitar, bass and sing. I woudl prefer to to a 80's thrash(early metallica megadeth testament because that is what i am most famlair with.

I can play drums for that, but I don't have a way to record anything.

Deconstruction 02-15-2005 03:13 PM

Hmm i have that problem with recording CW do any of your friends have a way to record drums

Huber 02-15-2005 03:15 PM

I don't think so. The only way I could do it is with my computer.

metal-militia 02-15-2005 03:16 PM

Deconstruction 02-15-2005 03:16 PM

Did anyone else get that?

becuase uh... I sure didn't.

Huber 02-15-2005 03:26 PM

I'm definetly for playing drums for a cover song. I'm at school right now and the bell is going to ring. I'll see what I can do at home.

Deconstruction 02-15-2005 03:28 PM

OK a group of people play songs from a MEgadeth album (MD is just an example anyband is good by me as long as its thrash). Then you can post it on sound click or wherever you host music. Then i will mix it through audacity or other software. Then we have an album. This is just for fun ofcourse.

Deconstruction 02-15-2005 03:32 PM

Deconstruction 02-15-2005 03:38 PM

Any others than the drummers

I see. Timing is probably going to be a major issue here, if you can't actually jam with the people you're going to be covering with. After all you guys aren't metronome steady. So you better expect the album to sound raw, and by raw I mean sloppy, as all fuck.

Sliptallica: Since when did you post here? With a name like that you'll get torn to shreds.

metal-militia 02-15-2005 03:46 PM

Siptallica  Dargons right.

I still dont get how you can make an album sound good by random people playing it.

Deconstruction 02-15-2005 03:47 PM

well what i do when i record is use the exact album time(exact second on which instrument lands). I think we should do cryptic writings. Dargon you want to help. Dargon please?

RCA 02-15-2005 03:55 PM

Cryptic Writings isn't thrash, so your outcome for the cover album will already be bad according to your pre-set plans.

When you decide to cover a Dark Fucking Angel album, post something in here because I can help with that. I'm the session guitarist for the only thrash band in my town, and those guys love to do the occasional DFA cover song.

metal-militia 02-15-2005 03:59 PM

If you want something thats raw and sloppy on purpose, try early Sodom and Kreator - Endlass Pain (well, not really sloppy, just raw).

CW isnt thrash, so i suggest you check out more thrash albums first

Deconstruction 02-15-2005 04:22 PM

Alright Kreator sounds pretty cool

bassaholica2004 02-15-2005 04:26 PM

Can someone recommend me some fast, thick, crunchy, and dark thrash? I've been stuck lately, as it seems Death Metal is easier to find than thrash nowadays. Anyways, stuff like Sodom, Kreator, or maybe a more riff-based Slayer would do well.

Also, I got some Sadus albums, and they're really good. Steve Digiorgio on bass is 'kin awesome too.

LordDargon 02-15-2005 04:50 PM

Well, assuming you know Dark Angel and Kreator, the kings of fast, thick, crunchy, and dark thrash, you must check out:

Devastation - Idolatry
Vio-lence - Eternal Nightmare
Holy Moses - Finished With the Dogs
Andralls - Massacre, Corruption, Destruction (is the only one I have)
Exhorder - Slaughter in the Vatican
Incubus - Serpent Tempation
Mutilator - Immortal Force
Protector - Golem
Razor - Violent Restitution
Torture Squad - Pandemonium
Morbid Saint - Spectrum of Death
and of course DEMOLITION FUCKING HAMMER - EPIDEMIC OF VIOLENCE! \m/

Sorry if that's a bit overkill, it felt good to get it all out :)

Oh, and don't forget Ripping Corpse - Dreaming with the Dead.

And yeah, Sadus officially own everyone's souls.

RCA 02-15-2005 04:52 PM

Bassaholica, try your hardest to find Revenant - Prophecies of a Dying World. You'll like it. :thumb:
