i can't see you on my list though, when you're online anyway.
My friend got an x-box 360 for christmas, I'm dying to play it. I might pay him an unexpected visit today and commandeer it for a few hours :D.

I'm trying to decide if I should buy an iPod video now or save up and get an iBook (laptop). I would rather have an iBook because my current computer isn't very fast or portable, but I really need a new mp3 player and I wouldn't mind having something to show off when everyone comes back to school with their christmas presents.
i have an ibook, it freaking rocks. 4 hour battery life is great too because apple use low resistance wiring.
if you need any questions answered just ask.
ibook>ipod video. unless you use pcs alot, then it takes a while to change to osx.

I see that you are a fan of some good comedians

Jev 12-26-2005 11:38 AM

I am forced to get a last fm.

Illmatic 12-26-2005 11:39 AM

You know, I just don't "get" Mitch Hedberg, I guess.

gmoneyguy 12-26-2005 11:41 AM
You know, I just don't "get" Mitch Hedberg, I guess.
He more or less tells jokes straight up, while most comedians tell you a story to get to a joke.

Lunch 12-26-2005 11:43 AM

Mitch is sort of awkward to listen to for a bit, but then he says something hilarious that comes out of nowhere. Then after that most of what he says is funny.

That's the thing, he has no stage presence, he really doesn't have anything. He's just some stoner standing up there telling a million one-liners one after another. And yeah, a few of them are funny, but if you swing for the fences every time you're bound to hit a few home runs.

He probably fried his brain, so he can't create a stage presence

Yes, yes you are.

Then he probably shouldn't be a standup comedian.

Im not trying to start an arguement....... anyways he's dead so you have no need to worry about new material.

Mazeppa 12-26-2005 11:57 AM

So, as you may or may not know I got a new stereo for Christmas (:D). Anyway, this afternoon I connected up my old speakers (which work and sound fine) to my new stereo so I now have four speakers in my room. It's a small room, and it's pretty loud now; sounds great aswell. So yeah, afternoon well spent.

NP:Beethoven - Symphony No.3 - I. Allegro con brio

Lunch 12-26-2005 12:02 PM

I just watched his uncut special that was aired on comedy central, and he actually has quite a bit of stage presence compared to the Mitch you're talking about. He constantly talks to the audience and interacts with them.

I guess the word I'm looking for is 'energy'...go watch Bill Hicks, Richard Pryor, Chris Rock, Lewis Black, or Dave Chappelle (just as a starter), that's the kinda stuff I like. Someone who is into the material and really high energy up on stage; if someone isn't excited about their material, why should I be? Even early George Carlin had some degree of charisma.

Lunch 12-26-2005 12:09 PM

Ok, energy I understand. I still like how Mitch has a different approach to the business though.

Jev 12-26-2005 12:10 PM

Hmm, anyone read the new announcement?
Interesting stuff. Don't know if I can handle change though.

Its a differing style, It doesnt mean hes not excited about his material. Its different strokes for different folks.
