Yeah, couldnt think of the word. But Tool doing at least one Meshuggah style song wouldnt be that bad...but I doubt Adam is capable of such speed.

I wouldnt say he would be able and i kinda doubt Danny Carey a bit but he probably could do it.

And you are right about the heavy thing we wont know what they mean by heavy until it comes out hopefully it will be good
i was in coconuts the other day (CD store) and i saw these TOoL tribute albums done in different styles of music?!?! no lie, any one see those yet?
I have the 2nd string tribute, and have seen the covers one.

Plus my rcord store is now stocking the PLC album. i was tempted to buy it.

TrainTakeMeHome 04-08-2005 02:36 PM

Here is, once again, Part 1 of the Oklahoma City 2002 show.

Good luck.

Adam Jones is GOD 04-08-2005 02:43 PM

nah it was a joke. you can hurl your excremate at me . its cool. at least you're funny. I just got that GNX4 (digitech best thing yet) I LOVE IT. friggin awesome. if only i had my own computer for mixing and what not. literally every tone imaginable

clearvision 04-08-2005 03:01 PM

I have a zoom 606.../goes to hide

I just learnt the whole of third eye, the solo is so good (1st one with the amazing lick at 5:00)

You reckon the PLC album is good? It's all queued on Slsk :(.

kurrpt 04-08-2005 03:03 PM

i havent tried learning that yet. I eventually want to though. I want to get down the ænema version of push it. I just love the bits Adam plays that are real quiet like

Adam Jones is GOD 04-08-2005 03:04 PM

Once I get tone worthy stuff (MGs are NOT tone worthy), ill get learning the better ones.

I really need an American to give me an opinion on PLC, as I havent heard much. I saw their video ages ago, and cant remember what I thouhgt of it. I know its nothing like Tool or APC though, and much simpler for Danny. (obvious I know, but this is real baisc stuff)

clearvision 04-08-2005 03:06 PM

Check out the previews AJIG, It's not really my style, 90's metal pantera-esque...
I saw Pigmy at the "Negativ" (very small club) in Frankfurt Germany circa 1991. They called it the "Drink Free Forever Tour". Totally by accident, me and my buddy met up w/ 3 of the band members before the show at a pub down the street. Only after we had pounded several beers did we find out that they were the band members of Pigmy...the band we had planned on seeing that night(only because the Batschkapp was dead that night). Anyway, the band (from my native CA) was very cool to me and my friend. They took us to their VIP spread, fed us well, and gave us nice plug during their gig. Very cool. Also, the drummer claimed to have played w/ Black Flag previously.

Adam Jones is GOD 04-08-2005 03:28 PM

Henry Rollins

was part of an early legendary punk band called

Black Flag

who's drummer was Danny Carey, who now plays for

Pygmy Love Circus

Who toured with

A Perfect Circle

whos vocalist, Maynard James Kennan also sings for

Tool

Who did a song featuring the vocals of

henry Rollins

At least the lie gave me some fun. Those guys are either victims to the salt jokes, or are complusive liars

Edit: Actually, didnt PLC have another drummer for a while? Maybe it wasnt so far fetched after all

clearvision 04-08-2005 03:28 PM

Is that a slsk username, AIM, MSN?

AJIG...wht?

EDIT: oic :(

Otherside 04-08-2005 03:47 PM

AJG if you end up getting it can you send it to me as well?
I know what the song "Stinkfist" is about, its about Anal Fisting -_0
This song isn't ABOUT anal fisting. It uses fisting as a metaphor for the technological advances that have become an addiction to our society for stimulation. An easy target would be reality shows. First there is one and it catches on and then there is two and now there is an entire market flooded with reality shows. It is about having seen, hearing, and done anything that could possibly entertain your mind and one dependance on media such as TV and books and music as mental stimulation when they really should possibly be spending more time thinking on their own. I know that it is a hypocritical thing to say on an internet forum but it's the truth.

BurtonChancellor 04-08-2005 07:10 PM

Yeah...probably not necessary to post comments now in reply to posts on the first page, Da_Machine. If you look again, you might notice that the post you're replying to was written about a year ago (well, 9 months to be exact, but I digress).

Anyways, as for Part 1 of the Oklahoma concert and people who haven't been able to get their hands on it, I tried uploading it a few days back, but it never made it through to yousendit. If there's anybody that would like me to though, I wouldn't mind trying to upload it again tonight.

Shadius 04-08-2005 07:14 PM

That would be great, i'd love to see that.
i was in coconuts the other day (CD store) and i saw these TOoL tribute albums done in different styles of music?!?! no lie, any one see those yet?
The String Tribute cds are great, the first one is definetly the better of the two. I also have some cd called "A Tribute To Tool", I only listened to it once right after I got it, it was sort of techno-ish, I hated it when I got it. It was bad enough that I dumped it in with all my old Will Smith and Backstreet Boys cds. So I think I'll take it out and give it another shot. :p

Werny 04-09-2005 01:34 AM

When I read that Tool were influenced by Meshuggah, I was thinking that means that it'll be brutal, the solos will be stranger, and there'll be a lot more time changes.

And when I read that they're influenced by Fantomas, well I've only heard two songs, but I guess that means they'll have either some odd samples, or really strange sounding instruments. Or they'll turn ultra-scary.

Either way, it works out. I hope that they'll still have "segues".

Dried Muffin Remnants 04-09-2005 01:04 PM

Desensitivity is what Stinkfist is about

Darkness 04-09-2005 04:01 PM

This is off topic but...

Has anyone else noticed that throughout Intolerance you can hear some of the riffs of prison sex in the backaround?? I think thats kinda cool...

Sleeper 04-09-2005 06:36 PM

I havent listened to Undertow in a while, But i noticed that also.

horseypie 04-10-2005 02:59 AM

i havent heard that....but then again im deaf

guitarist.kid 04-10-2005 08:26 AM
