They didn't touch anything remotely technical, and IMO they didn't really touch anything progressive either.

Orion was kind of Progressive, AJFA is a fair(least) technical album. |
exactly.
Metallica wasn't a 100% thrash, they touched more technical, melodic and progressive sounds, so comparing them with the real titans of thrash wouldn't be fair.
Agreed. I can respect that. |
I just listened to Crush 'Em and Breadline and they are horrible. How could Dave release not even that how could he write this ****?
|
Cause he wanted to push Megadeth in a different direction. And so did Marty.

They couldn't have possibly thought that music was good. |
Do you guys think that Dave is/was capable of playing the solos that Marty played on RIP?
|
Do you guys think that Dave is/was capable of playing the solos that Marty played on RIP?
Nah.
They couldn't have possibly thought that music was good
I know Marty kinda liked it. He was upset cause he wanted to be really extreme, like the poppy songs be really freakin pop and the heavy songs to be really freakin heavy. |
Do you guys think that Dave is/was capable of playing the solos that Marty played on RIP?
Maybe. He's gotten really fast over the years. And, STFU RISK OWNS! Download I'll Be There and Wanderlust! Cool songs. |
Nah.
I know Marty kinda liked it. He was upset cause he wanted to be really extreme, like the poppy songs be really freakin pop and the heavy songs to be really freakin heavy.
I kind of think Dave MIGHT have been able to play them because he can play pretty goddamn well. He has to be able to because of how fast the music Megadeth plays is. I think it might have been a little better if it had been the way he wanted. Instead what seemed to come out was more of a mix between the two getting a sort of KISS/Nickleback sound. |
Okay well maybe, but theres no way Dave can write a solo like Marty. :P
|

why Marty doesn't play on Megadeth anymore? |
Because he doesn't like playing metal anymore.
|
Because he doesn't like playing metal anymore.
A) Correct. He likes playing Japanese kiddy games. (Though he is still amazing, and does a lot of clinics. I love Marty.) B) Your avatar is awesome. |
Okay well maybe, but theres no way Dave can write a solo like Marty. :P
Yeah I agree. |
B) Your avatar is awesome.
I thought you might say that :p it's gone now anyway :( I would probably be a bannable offence. |
does anyone of you have heard the live version of My Last Words?
It's my fav. Megadeth song and i haven't heard live at all.
I saw a live video of it i think from the BTU tour(which I saw and gigantour ;) ), but it was cool except dave played the intro horribly. Which reminds me, i recently downloaded and saw a live gig from 84, where the leads were played by kerry king. woah what a show. Dave played songs not just from KIMB, but also from Peace sells, and the peace sells ones were played different, for instance The conjuring didn't have that tapping part in the intro, and Devil's Island was played like 3 times faster. Woah what a show. |

I've heard the version of Hook In Mouth from one of those '84 shows. It sounds completely different.
|
could you send it to me at:
astralmethal@hotmail.com
hell no its 3 gigs big, get bit torrent, and download the torrent from www.torrentspy.com plus i deleted it, hAHAH sorry |
no problem, it would be cool to have, but keery king isn't the greatest thing.
|
no he's not, but hey i thought it was cool because i read about how kerry helped megadeth out while he was in slayer, and as i was watching, the guitarist didnt look anything like poland so it had to be kerry, and the people on the deth forums confirmed it. its a cool video, bad quality though.
No and no. Megadeth only have one instrumental in the first place, and I'd say Megadeth have more variety throughout their career.
Dude, there's 2 Megadeth Instrumentals! One from SFSGSW, Into The Lungs of Hell.. Bloooody sick song imo. And one from TWNAH, I dunno the name of it though, but it's a pretty good song. If you have ever heard Mustaine with Metallica (On Power Metal or No Life 'Til Leather) I think it might just change your mind about Metallica. The quality of the albums are horrendous yes (Recorded in their bassists garage?), but what do you expect from a demo... The songs are played about 1.5 x the speed of their later releases on Kill 'em All, and imo there's no contest between Mustaine and Hammett as to who's the better guitarist. I'd never heard Mustaine do Jump in The Fire before and always thought the first little 'solo' (if you can call it that? It's like 2 bars..) Hammett did amazingly well. Then I heard Mustaine doing it on No Life 'Til Leather... What can I say :o Meh, I love Metallica.. But yes Megadeth is better... |
The one on TWNAH is Silent Scorn.
Does 'I Know Jack' count? :p
Nah probably not since it actually has lyrics in the booklet. |
Theres also Ablsolution, on Youthanasia.
|
What do you guys think is the most difficult Megadeth song to play on guitar?
Rhythm(sp)-I would say Take No Prisoners Solos-Hangar 18 |
