Le Scrawl is alright.

Tyr 03-11-2008 09:47 AM

I really like Ekkaia. Could I get some recommendations to similar bands? The first post contained a little too many bands for me to sift through.

Kage 03-11-2008 10:59 AM
A bunch.
Anyone care to give any examples?

What are some crust bands that aren't too crust... That a street-punk could get into?

RetiredAt21 03-11-2008 01:30 PM
What are some crust bands that aren't too crust... That a street-punk could get into?
You'd probably like Caustic Christ.

whiteminority 03-11-2008 03:21 PM

If you want try Kakistocracy.

RetiredAt21 03-11-2008 04:04 PM

I've never heard of them, are they good, Ben?

you'd probably like Amebix, Doom or Aus-Rotten.

I'm not sure though, seeing as I don't listen to much that would be considered street punk.

yeah, aus-rotten and kakistocracy
maybe put from ashes rise and to what end in the list, they get me into crust

RetiredAt21 03-12-2008 07:11 AM

From Ashes Rise is awesome. Check out His Hero Is Gone, too.
I've never heard of them, are they good, Ben?
So good. Seeing them again soon. From Asheville, NC which is pretty sweet since they're close.

For the dude into Street Punk maybe check out Chaos UK? That would be a good starting point though Chaos UK isn't strictly crust, they're a good starting point for someone into street punk I would imagine. Download their split with Extreme Noise Terror.
shikari maybe
http://www.myspace.com/87261431
They seemed pretty good. I'll check them out. Thanks.

cashh 03-12-2008 04:08 PM

I just listened to From Ashes Rise (the album Nightmares) and they're awesome. They remind me of a crustie A Global Threat. Chaos UK is good too, i've listened to them for awhile now but I never knew they were crust. I'm trying to find their split with Extreme Noise Terror

Tyr 03-12-2008 04:40 PM

Shikari don't feel very crusty, though. To me they sound more like a screamo band, but I'm probably wrong, since my knowledge of crust is minimal.

Txus 03-12-2008 05:10 PM

Shikari are screamo.

Anyone else loves Phoenix Bodies more than me? Goddamn, Raise the Bullshit Flag is such an amazing album

Tyr 03-12-2008 05:13 PM

That would explain it. Which crust band should I listen to next?

doki 03-12-2008 06:21 PM

ye but ekkaia also screamo at least in my knowledge
and sometimes crust and screamo sounds alike vice versa

Pisschrist from Melbourne :P : http://www.myspace.com/dbeatholocaust
they gonna tour Europe in july-august before they broke up
they more like d-beat bands though

and ye as retired says, his hero is gone

RetiredAt21 03-12-2008 09:40 PM

Ekkaia is awesome, screamo+crust=amazing mix

Feel The Darkness 03-12-2008 10:17 PM

In case anyone is into Disfear, I just posted up a new album review of their new album, Live the Storm.

check it out:

dig it.

Txus 03-12-2008 10:33 PM

Sweet man, that album rules.

NP: Los Crudos - Crudo Soy

RetiredAt21 03-13-2008 08:10 AM

Disfear is good.

Like I said Chaos UK isn't strictly crust but they are a good bridge band to get into crust bands. A lot of the early Earache bands can also be considered crust though they are primarily grind.
