I used to have respect for you. I knew you were a big rudiment player, you were a jazz player, which are two things that are both uncommon around here, and two things I highly respect. You tried hosting a rudiment competition here over a year ago, I was the only one who participated before the thread was closed, I thought it was a really cool idea and is something that I could have made myself.

But then something changed in you. I don't know why, all I know is that it is. I think it all started with that 'hip' debate, which was really dumb. You go around thinking you know what hip is, and that nobody else has any ****ing clue. When we say is that everybody has their own version of hip, and that you (who claims to come here and show us to 'open our minds' :rolleyes: ) are just being an elitist by pushing what you think is the absolute truth on everyone else. I wouldn't call that opening our minds, I call that forcing our minds.

And then things just went downhill. Then somewhere down the line all of a sudden a bunch of people from the Pit started showing up whenever someone attacked you (whether or not they had valid points or not) and they just gangbanged on that one person. No one can touch them, because all of 'you guys' just hide behind the veil of 'ZOMG the interwebz is not serious LOLZERZ!' Many people do take the web seriously, and many of those people come here.

Now, I know the Pit is a fun place for a bunch of sarcastic fun. I realize that. I'm not a fan of that cesspool, so I ignore it. You ignore here. Everything was great! But the void opened (which I blame on you Cameron) which is causing this chaos.

I think it would be better if

a: you stopped posting here, or if not

b: you no longer bring any of your Pit buddies in here, because they aren't really members of our little subcommunity and unless they have something to say that relates to drumming that is *SERIOUS*, they should just not post here.

Their internet personalities and posting habits are perfect for the pit. As I said all along, I have no problem with that. Just not here.

So I just gave you two really easy choices. They're not that hard, in all honesty. If you don't choose either one, this will just circle round and round, because the voices of reason (me, Damo, and Billdrum) will constantly be hammered by the "LOLZ interwebz funny" guys with no way to give reasonable debate to you.

Closing the Stronghold would be a ridiculously unfair move, as every other forum has a thread just like it.

I wouldn't mind a new mod, though.

we need a new mod, we've always had. It was always the philosophy of the Supermods that we don't need more then one mod (and that the supermods can take care of a lot of things) but apparently that doesn't work. If Jim was still here (though I'm kinda glad he isn't) this **** would have been done with, and a lot of people would have been banned two weeks ago.

They close the Casuals and Guitar LOD once they reach a certain point anyway

Yeah, that was one thing about Jim. He didn't really let sh[SIZE="2"]i[/SIZE]t fly.

Although, he did just kind of bottom out after a while.

You cannot pick and choose who comes into this sub-forum. This is a public forum, and anyone can post here, including people from the pit.

I never doubted your ability, knowledge, etc. you have made very very good threads. I've just been getting a very bad vibe from you recently, almost like you don't care and that this whole thing is a joke.

I do think, however, that you are slightly egotistical and maybe too overly confident in what I've always believed what should be a personal opinion. That's just me, though. I don't speak for anybody else.

About the debate things, I don't know which one you're talking about. Charlie's one, I made a post supporting what he has done. Then Josiah made his accusation, and yes I admit I was one of those "Lol pwned" posts. But then again, Josiah's argument held a lot of weight at that time. Now, after reading the thread (and deliberately staying out of it) I'm not too sure. It can go either way, it can go halfway, whatever. I'm out.

As for Damo's debate, a bunch of it got deleted and I have no ****ing clue what was going on before then. As for what is in there now, I made a couple comments that related to what other people said, maybe not directly related to the whole 'stereotype' thing, but that's because I've rarely been in the stereotype situation before (and whenever I have, its from a person whose opinion holds little value to me).

The hipness thing, frankly, I don't care about. Its a meaningless topic for me.

I guess my advice to you is this: if you're gonna post something, try to be a bit less 'know-it-all' about it. I think if you made that hip post a little bit more carefully, you wouldn't have moogoo making his comments and then this whole 'pit invasion' or whatever the hell you want to call it wouldn't have happened.

You are absolutly right, this is open to everybody. Its just I haven't seen any serious drum discussion from you guys (save for Cameron obviously, and that Tabla post (which is really cool btw) and maybe Charlie's debate) so I feel that your presence just adds dead weight. By your philosophy, I can just go over in the guitar forum and, assuming I was good at debating :lol: , raise hell, but really, what's the point? I leave it alone. I might make a legitimate response to a latest thread that shows up on the main forum screen if I am able to, but that's about it.

If anybody came in here and could talk about anything, this would become....The Pit :p
