Hey All

Oh, the joys of being feverish.

nisakss 02-09-2005 05:47 PM

Some days you're fast, some days you're sneaky, but some days you're fast as a snail...some days are better than others.

Rollo47 02-09-2005 05:50 PM

I'm always sneaky - I wear sneakers.

rybass 02-09-2005 07:41 PM

Yeah. I see him every where in myspace. He's got pics of him with Vic Wooten and Stu Hamm. Or atleast he did at one time.

Jamie 02-09-2005 07:42 PM

hes really good! Hes got soooo many myspace friends too!

rybass 02-09-2005 07:53 PM

Well it's very easy to get a lot of friends on myspace.

cheesepuff 02-09-2005 07:53 PM

'Lo bass forum. So I've found a new way to improve my finger-style speed. I figured I waste so much time on the computer anyways, while I'm doing something that only requires one hand I just strum my bass, it works out nicely, I'm seeing improvements already.

rybass 02-09-2005 07:56 PM

You just strum like one string for a long period of time?

cheesepuff 02-09-2005 07:59 PM

I move around, I listen to music and basically play along to the beat without fretting any notes.

rybass 02-09-2005 08:03 PM

How many fingers do you use? Just curious.

cheesepuff 02-09-2005 08:07 PM

2, I've messed around with a three-finger method, but it doesn't feel as natural, I use it sometimes for triplets or things that have a triplet-style to it, but usually just two.

Spaceman Spiff 02-09-2005 08:10 PM

I use 2 fingers too.
I've tried working with 3, but I feel more comfortable with 2, and I can't play as well with 3.

Jaco used 2. Case and point. :D

rybass 02-09-2005 08:12 PM

That's cool. I only use 2 too.

Jamie 02-09-2005 08:29 PM

I was actually doing that earlier! Then i would stop for 2 minutes wants my arm muscles are on fire

cheesepuff 02-09-2005 08:33 PM
I was actually doing that earlier! Then i would stop for 2 minutes wants my arm muscles are on fire
Yeah, I started doing it a few days ago and am already faster... really makes a statement about how long I'm on the computer eh?

janyeno 02-09-2005 08:35 PM

someone should send me like 58$ on paypal... because I just got a mixer but im short about 58$ in the account until sunday(when the xbox sells)...

this is depressing...

Duncster 02-09-2005 08:37 PM

I've almost always used three Myung 321 style. It just takes so much work to try and get it so you can do galloping triplets in the form of 231 and 312 patterns. And perfecting string skipping with three fingers is helll!! and since all music is in 4/4 time 3 fingers seems extremely stupid. BUT I'M STICKING BY IT. I think it will be good in the long run.

janyeno 02-09-2005 08:40 PM

I tried 3 finger a while back, well I still do, but it's just really awkward(sp?)... my ring finger on my right hand literally has down syndrome...

ridethelightning 02-09-2005 08:43 PM

dammit
i was just playing the awakening. poppd the G. and it snapped at hte bridge.
last week i broke my D so i got dean markley blue steels.
i like their tone. but i dnno if i can rely on them
any suggestions. i think ill get em agian.
i really like their slap tone. but i need jazz and metal too!

irishslappop 02-09-2005 08:49 PM

i usually only use too except for tiplets like my cheesey little friend cheespuff.

btw chessy old boy, hows it going? everything pan out with your school situation?

Mr. Jiggy Fly 02-09-2005 08:59 PM

Hey guys. I have a question about jazz basses: are they warm toned, and can I get a Musicman-esque slap tone out of them. Also, are they growly?

Duncster 02-09-2005 09:01 PM
i <3 dunc.
