Hey...im off to go pickup the Elixers you recommended i get :p Be back later guys.

fatbandit 02-09-2005 02:52 PM

I'm beating myself up over whether to get the Roland DB-500 or not for about £500... It would be nice, and I wouldn't need the DB-900, but Its whether I can justify spending that amount of money.

Duncster 02-09-2005 02:56 PM
I'm screwed... I can't really practice. My amp is broken....
90% of my practise is without an amp. Unless you live beside a waterfall or something you shouldn't really need it to much. Good luck.

fatbandit 02-09-2005 03:02 PM

Yeah, my amp has been at my mate's house for a few months. Doesn't mean i don't practice. I use it unamped or through my computer.

Anyhow, if I order an amp in from the States, it won't run in the UK right? I found a DB500 in the States on Ebay real cheap you see.

voiceless one 02-09-2005 03:11 PM

Evenin' MX :)

bassist-bmxer 02-09-2005 03:12 PM

You would have to get a plug converter. Or you could actually take the actual plug apart and change it round.

twopelu 02-09-2005 03:15 PM

Hi casualers... ;)

Good night. How is it going?

Hi there guys/girls! :thumb:

Mitchell Royce 02-09-2005 03:46 PM

Allright, picture sent. Just make sure you're not at work.

Twopelu, yes I did send you a mail. All it said was that I didn't have MSN instant messenger yet. I'll get around to getting it by this weekend though and I will send you my screen name then. It'll probably be my normal name but who knows if it's taken or not.

gaslight 02-09-2005 03:47 PM

In the future, we'll all wear glitter.

neal_672 02-09-2005 03:49 PM

 best Ric picture ever...

kilian 02-09-2005 03:49 PM

The story of the glitter gel.

words explained if they are wrong in english
glitter: those shiny things
gel: the stuff you put in your hair to keep it in shape

Well it all started around christmas, my school had this play organised. Theater group, other acts between the pieces (dancing/the band). Well as you guys/girls expected: I was in the band, since I can't dance. So we had to do 4 of those plays. Between one of them I was bored and I saw this lovely glitter gel, the theaterpeople used that to put it in their hair and a bit on their face (since they needed to look futuristic).

Well I was staring at my bass and staring at the glitter gel, then I thought: well my bass is lake placid blue plus it twinckles a bit and the head is just light wood.. So I grabbed the glitter gel, and started to put it on the head of my bass.

I let it dry and went on stage.. It was shiny and well I liked it as a joke :thumb: Glitters on the head of my bass..

But here comes the funny part: I am sick of those things now and I am cleaning it.. Well trying to get it off! The glitter things are all over my pants, chair, the towel I use, hands and the floor.. And I'm not finished yet :amaze:

Moral of the story: glitters are nice for your bass, but when you get bored of them: prepare for a hell of a job :thumb:

EDIT: moved the post, no one would read it otherwise.. typing work is useless then

Spaceman Spiff 02-09-2005 03:50 PM

What is this picture you all speak of?

fatbandit 02-09-2005 03:51 PM

Speak for yourself.

neal_672 02-09-2005 03:51 PM

 Nice job Kili :thumb: moral of the story, don't mod your bass unless you're sure. What bass is it?

Mitchell Royce 02-09-2005 03:52 PM
What is this picture you all speak of?
Gimme your e-mail and I'll send it to you.
 Nice job Kili :thumb: moral of the story, don't mod your bass unless you're sure. What bass is it?
The problem was that it were 2D glitter things.. so you can't see it from every angle that it are glitter things. You would only see some weird spots on it.. If they only were 3D glitters

A Richwood Jazz bass, nice bass for the money though, only the pickups are not good :thumb:

Thx mate, excuse me for my stupidity hehe.

You already know my MSN so add me whenever you get it, or just send me and email.

By the way, TalkBass isnt anything similar to a community...

Mitchell Royce 02-09-2005 04:00 PM

Kili, as long as you don't have a girlfriedn who thinks you're cheating on her with a go-go dancer/stripper there's nothing to complain about regarding your glitter problem.

Spaceman Spiff 02-09-2005 04:00 PM

That's one sexy bass. :naughty:
