wow, im not used to the different colours on the new layout for the forum.
oh yeah, more Xmas stuff. Genesis - Foxtrot Genesis - Nursery Cryme Genesis - Live (not here yet, but should arive in like 2 days) Genesis - Tresspass (not here yet, but should arive in like 2 days) so i created a last.fm 2 days ago, here my stats for the 2 days tracks played: 67 Overall: Genesis 37 Yes 7 Emerson Lake and Palmer 6 Beatles 5 John Lennon 4 Zeppelin 2 Zappa 2 Bob Dylan 1 The Kinks 1 King Crimson 1 Jethro Tull 1 id have a ****load of more songs played but almost all of them arent tagged right (anybody know how to label them right?) |
Yeah I do.
You right click them and go to Properties, then Advanced. You label in the stuff there. You don't need album, year or track number. An easy way to tell if they're tagged is to view your music in "Tile". To do so, go to View> then Tiles. |
I got Revolver (Beatles), How the West Was Won, and Sultans of Swing: The Very Best of Dire Straits for Christmas :)
Revolver is simply awesome. I love that and How The West Was Won. Dire Straits is pretty cool too. So I got these CD's for Christmas: Weezer - Make Believe The Clash - London Calling Derek and the Dominoes - Layla The Eagles - Hotel California The Who - Live At the Isle Of Wight Festival 1970 The Who - The Who By Numbers Blues Brothers - The Definitive Collection John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers - As It All Began 64-69 Cream - Disraeli Gears Guns n' Roses - Appetite For Distruction |
Revolver was the first Beatles album I've ever owned. I was recommended it from this thread :)
I just picked up "Tonight's The Night". I'm listening to it now. Still lookin' for Zuma though. |

The Blues Brothers rock, I got the movie and soundtrack for my birthday last fall. np- Fortunate Son I could upload Zuma. Rubber Soul was my first Beatles album that I owned, not my parents. |
That's fine. I'll find it on Soulseek.
|
Revolver and Rubber Soul are amazing. I was recommended those albums in here too. Its impossible for me to say which is the better album....
|
Revolver has a weak ending IMO. My favorite on that album is probably "She Said, She Said". I don't know why, but I love it.
np: Neil Young - Speakin' Out |
I think it has a great ending. My favorites on that have to be "Taxman", "Elenor Rigby", "Tomorrow Never Knows", and "Got To Get You Into My Life."
|
OMG get Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas!!! One of my alltime favorite movies.
Ray Charles owns any and every Rock singer that has ever been recorded. Bye Bye, Love - Ray Charles
Why is it no surprise that you love Fear & Loathing? :p |
Sultans, is a good compilation, I was thinking of buying it to further my Dire Straites library. Mark Knophler is one of the most tasteful guitarists ever.
Buy it, I like it. I think Knopler's underrated I got these other CD's too, I just didn't mention them since they're not classic rock: Queens of the Stone Age- Lullabies to Paralyze Weezer- Pinkerton Killers- Hot Fuss Johnny Cash- Live at Folsom Prison The Essential Johnny Cash Death Cab For Cutie- Transatlanticism Audioslave- Out of Exile Cash is doooope |
Why is it no surprise that you love Fear & Loathing? :p
OIC...cuz drugs :smoke: I got a 30$ best buy GC I might have to pick that movie up and get ripped and watch it. Then go operate some power tools. np:Sunny Day Real Estate- Days Were Golden next classic rock playing: Ted Nugent- Hey Baby |
I might have to pick that movie up and get ripped and watch it. Then go operate some power tools.
Ha, you go do that :lol: Seriously, we need more Black Sabbath discussion in here. They're so fucking awesome. I love how dark and evil they sound. |
Black Sabbath is fucking awesome. The atmosphere their music creates is just so evil and cryptic. Iommi's riffs are amazing too.
|
I respect Iommi, but I can't stand his solos. They're incredibly boring IMO.
I finally figured out how to get movies on my iPod. /w00t |
I love Iommi's tone, it's a huge part of what gives Sabbath that evil sound. Butler is also pretty much an awesome bass player. But as jpj said, the evil atmosphere of the songs is what really catches me.
Any suggestions as to another Sabbath album after Paranoid? Everytime I go to the store (like today, for example), I always check out the Sabbath section but never know which one to buy next. |
I've been listening to "And This Is Maxwell Street".
Jake requested it to me, and it's amazing. It's in 1964, on Maxwell Street where blues acts would come, and somebody decided to record it. The amazon link is here:http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004YN9X/qid%3D1135660958/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/102-7022027-2140919 I might YSI later.. Also, Badmoon or anybody who's seen City of God. Is it in English, or is it all in Porteugese(sp)? |

Master Of Reality. It has Sweet Leaf, which has one of the greatest intros of all time. A hacking cough, then this totally testicle crushing guitar intro. City Of God, as Plath said, is Brazilian Portegese (sp) with English subtitles. Incredible film, I highly recommend you rent/buy it if you can. |

S/t has N.I.B., but Master of Reality has Into the Void and Sweet Leaf, than there's Sabbath Bloody Sabbath with...Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. You really can't go wrong with any of those. |
Quoted for the awesomeness that is The Beatles.
I bought a Black Sabbath shirt today. It's and black and dark, with this kinda angel thing on it.
speaking of shirts i got a sweet sgt peppers shirt for xmas
Master Of Reality. Yea, but that's coming from the guy who worships Motley Crue. :p I really want to read the book.... |
