I'd say for countries producing Thrash bands, Germany and USA do the best. I barely know of any thrash bands that originated in Canada, could you give me a few??

a8o 02-11-2005 06:54 PM
Whiplash - Another band i reccomend 546074560 times :)

they are great, thats a good find RCA
lol. I'd just stumbled upon them last night because of their name. Was browsing someone's slsk folder (mostly a death head) and I liked the band name. Very thrash :)

a8o 02-11-2005 06:59 PM

Does anybody else post exclusively in this thread?

MAthiAS 02-11-2005 07:44 PM

Could someone kindly reccomend me some Coroner?

hit_the_lights_2005 02-11-2005 07:48 PM

are sepultura classed as a thrash outfit?

MAthiAS 02-11-2005 08:17 PM

As far as I know.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-11-2005 08:54 PM

Well they WERE thrash, but not anymore

and Cheers To Dragon (:p) :chug:

ThrashMaster27 02-11-2005 11:22 PM
Could someone kindly reccomend me some Coroner?
R.I.P., Punishment For Decadence and No More Color.

You can't go wrong with them 3 albums.

ThrashMaster27 02-11-2005 11:24 PM

Oh and as for good English Thrash bands.

Re-Animator
Xentrix
Sabbat
Acid Reign

True we didn't have many, but most of them were good.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-11-2005 11:29 PM

What are Re-Animator like?

also, i just picked up Morbid Visions/Bestial Devastation :D

RavenousMetalist87 02-12-2005 02:45 AM

Look at the lyrics for Bestial Devastation...I swear those lyrics and listening to the song itself crack me up every time

That Album/EP is so raw, the vocals are more death than thrash but I think that's due to Max's undeveloped vocals. Aswell, the guitars on Morbid Visions are out of tune. Obviously you can hear them but it's also backed up by Maxs' own admission in the book somehwere  Anyway, enjoy :thumb:

NP: Slayer - Live Undead

Apocalyptic Raids 02-12-2005 04:11 AM

Yeah, i read that in the book

i like max's raw vocals on Morbid Visions/Bestial Devastation & Schizophrenia so much better than the BTR and Arise vocals.

I've heard all of them apart from Re-Animator

The best Coroner is Punishment for Decadence

o noes!

Check these out:

Razor
Sacrifice
Slaughter
Infernal Majesty
Disciples of Power
Dissection
Piledriver (not really thrash but meh)

metal-militia 02-12-2005 07:13 AM

what Dargon said, plus early Annhilator :thumb:

And add Lawnmower Deth to that English thrash list. How can you not like a band with lyrics like "Enter the church of the apocalyptic lawnmower!"

DimebagDarrell 02-12-2005 08:36 AM

Lawnmower Deth

"watch out granma here comes a lawmower
watch out granma here comes a lawmower
watch out granma here comes a lawmower
TO CUT YOUR ****ING HEAD OFF!!"

edit: typo

:amaze:

I want that song for my car! :D

Anyway. I picked up Death Angel - 'Frolic Through the Park' today, £15.99!!! Goddamn import. It's not as good as the Ultra Violence IMO but still great thrash with exception to 'Bored' maybe.

DimebagDarrell 02-12-2005 09:13 AM

^

for 17quid you can get frolic, ultra violence, all these bootleg and love songs and a dvd on their new box set. Its all re-mastered so i aint gona go out and buy the albums separatly im just going to buy the box set

blackout 02-12-2005 09:24 AM

Anyone seeing kreator at the electric ballroom this wednesday?

DimebagDarrell 02-12-2005 09:43 AM

that got on my nerves when big bands come the england and then decide only to play one gig and it be in london, they should do more gigs further up north.

RCA 02-12-2005 10:11 AM

SCORE! I found an original copy of Atheist's "Piece of Time" for 5 BUCKS. Not thrash, but that album is usually VERY pricey.

Me and my friend have started a thrash band under the name of "Brutal Viking Skullfuck".

NP: Iron Maiden - The Clansman

Lucky Bastard. I couldn't find it anywhere, no matter how hard I tried, so my only option was to order it for $27 canadian.

NP: Sepultura - Stronger Than Hate

Thats what im going to do as well. What do you think is the best Death Angel album?

Nice find RCA :amaze:

CaptainWaits 02-12-2005 11:25 AM
What do you think is the best Death Angel album?
Either "The Ultra-Violence" or "Act III"

I'd personally choose "Act III", more variety in it, but both are great choices

DimebagDarrell 02-12-2005 11:27 AM

if any one wants act III its on amazon new for 2.80 :)

metal-militia 02-12-2005 11:29 AM

Still going to get the box set :)

Apparently Bulldozer have a box set with 4 of their albums, but i can't find it anywhere :upset:

DimebagDarrell 02-12-2005 11:31 AM

act III aint on the box set though.
if any one wants act III its on amazon new for 2.80 :)
I found Act III at my CD store for 5 bux. I had to order Frolic and the Ultra-Violence though

SLATANIC-666 02-12-2005 11:37 AM

Oh shit, I fucking forgot about the Death Angel boxset
Oh well, If I have the money to blow on it, I will :D

metal-militia 02-12-2005 11:38 AM

how could you spend over £15 on a CD!?

Act III is the cheapest Death Angel to buy anyway, so its not a problem if its not on the boxset

MAthiAS 02-12-2005 11:56 AM

What Kreator album should I get next, Extreme Aggression or Pleasure to Kill? I have Coma of Souls by the way.

RavenousMetalist87 02-12-2005 12:29 PM

^

For more normal extreme thrash, go for Extreme Aggression.
For more of a brutal form of thrash, go for Pleasure to Kill.

If you got more than enough, get them both.

Which is more like Coma of Souls?

And The New Order is amazing :thumb:

LordDargon 02-12-2005 02:06 PM

Pleasure to Kill is far and away the best Kreator. Get them both though.

The Ultra Violence is by far the best Death Angel. Get that.

Oh yeah, and The Legacy beats The New Order hands down.

bassaholica2004 02-12-2005 02:12 PM

What would you guys say the best Sodom albums is?

LordDargon 02-12-2005 02:15 PM

I would start with In The Sign of Evil and work from there up to Agent Orange. :thumb:

Coolio. I got the song Christ Passion, and I don't know what album its off, but its really good.

LordDargon 02-12-2005 02:23 PM

That's off Persecution Mania, which is possibly their best album. Get 'em all!

metal-militia 02-12-2005 02:39 PM
What would you guys say the best Sodom albums is?
Persecution Mania by far. Anyway who says Agent Orange is just plain wrong :p
