I see. Sounds like the exact same story that was the source of all my relationship woes this past February. I came out on top though: I kept my girlfriend because I really like her and don't want to ruin what we have, and I'm very good, close friends with this other girl and feel much of the same feeling for her, but I'm content with letting her be with other guys and maybe in some distant unplanned future getting with her. In the meantime I'll be happy to just be there for her no matter what happens.

It's not two girlfriends at once though, really. Don't get that impression. It's just basically a mental arrangement I've worked out to deal with the attraction with this other girl: I leave the door in an ambiguous position. I live my relationship in the present (I love what we have) rather than the future (What's the likelyhood this'll go all the way to getting married?) tense. And everybody's happy.

Yeah the 2 girlfriends thing is not me. I just have a bunch of really close friends who are girls. I basically grew up with them and we are all very physical. One of them (probably my best friend in the world) has a boyfriend she really likes and they have a great relationship but she and I still take naps together or lie around half naked and such. Basically if you saw her and I together, you'd think we were dating.

On another note, the other girl is less stupid and more interesting than my girlfriend, but I wouldn't be able to see her as often because we live quite far apart.

Yeah, I cuddle and tickle with this other girl a lot. The way we keep sane about the way we feel is to constantly talk about it. Keeping the openness about what we're doing and giving ourselves reality checks--AND MOST OF ALL, NEVER GOING TOO FAR--is what keeps me and her in line. It is possible to love a girl very much, but I honestly think it's very hard for a guy to ignore or not even notice a different, attractive opportunity even while the love for the one you have is in effect.

And the plain and simple fact is, the IDEA of a relationship with this other girl is nice and very exciting, but I know for a fact that if it became a reality in the present or near the present, it would not turn out well. As long as I recognize that, I can keep everything in check.
