I knew what genre's were for the most part, and the only two bands there I ever liked are Killswitch Engage, who were the band to get me into heavier stuff, and As I Lay Dying. I knew Underoath wasn't screamo.

Txus 02-10-2011 11:20 AM

At least he isn't making 10 stupid threads per day. And you knew genres, good job!

Juddybear 02-10-2011 11:42 AM

2muchket! 02-10-2011 12:36 PM

Si1v3RfaNg 02-10-2011 05:26 PM

I <3 you Kyle.

I saw a kid that looked exactly like you at the Street Smart Cyclist reunion show and was like, "what's up Kyle?" and the kid looked at me like I was crazy hahaha.
i think this is a terrible representation of metalcore, almost none of these have anything to do with metalcore
metalcore is best described as gothenburg melodic death mixed with hardcore elements (such as breakdowns, chants, etc)
let me give you some examples: darkest hour, killswitch engage, caliban, as i lay dying, it dies today, cannae, neaera, twelve tribes, miss may i, parkway drive
hope that helps
these are mostly melodic hardcore or post hardcore bands or just plain screamo like underoath's 'changing of times'
nice try though
+1 :smoke:

EDIT: existence in suicide needs to be appreeshed more, shattered is one of the most mosh tunes ever

Txus 02-11-2011 09:35 AM

I usually just listen to both of Disembodied LP's or "If God Only Knew..." when I feel like listening to them. I need to give Existence more listens I guess.

One of the best bands in the genre.

2muchket! 02-11-2011 09:43 AM

I do the same mike tbh.

Listening to hopesfall, forgot how much I love this band.

Juddybear 02-11-2011 09:43 AM

ever listen to the confession? never see ANYONE talk about that release

Txus 02-11-2011 09:49 AM

I don't even have that release tbh.

Did you give Morning Again a listen?

Juddybear 02-11-2011 09:51 AM

i have not, will dl something of theirs after i get out of the shower

Txus 02-11-2011 10:12 AM

Cool, I want to see what you think of them. Do you like Groundwork? That's another underrated 90's band I've been listening a lot lately. Its so filthy.

Juddybear 02-11-2011 10:30 AM

groundwork is great, first heard them on the split with unbroken, def an underrated band, p sure we have had this convo before tho lol

Txus 02-11-2011 10:43 AM

Really? I don't remember anyone talking about them in here before.

xMalcolmXx 02-11-2011 12:06 PM

Converge covered Black Flag. It's pretty awesome.
