Transendence Through Blight is the only song that's very good on there. Plus, their new material kicks that stuff's ***. They sound almost nothing like that now. |
 I'm kidding.
Haven't listen to it, not in the mood for metal tbqh. |

Where might we get the new Velnias? |
 I'm kidding.

Right after I posted that response I was like **** he probably hasn't even heard it so I went on over to your last.fm and sure enough I was right.
Where might we get the new Velnias?
See them live... in Illinois. |

Meh, I just classify them as metal because I don't really care that much about specific genre tags. What do you call them? |
Idk, they are not "Metal" in my eyes though. They have metal influences, that's for sure.
I might listen to some Warning or Bitterdusk later tonight though  |
NP: Warning - Footprints
I really love that album. |
The Strength to Dream is better tbh.
|
You're the only person I've heard say that. Even true doom die hards (and I got into Warning with the Blessed by the Sabbath demo). Don't get me wrong - I love the strength to Dream (hell one of the best moments of my life was hearing The Return when they supported Solstice and Mirror of Deception) but Watching From a Distance is superior to practically everything.
|
I agree with Jondur.

Yeah. I’m probably the only one who likes The Strength to Dream more. When I first heard it I didn’t even really like it… the vocals sounded flat, the instruments weren’t mixed high at all, and vocally I’d say Watching from A Distance is superior by far. When it comes to Warning, my love for them lies in their lyrical content though, and The Strength to dream has some of my favorite lyrics written. Generally my love for a band’s lyrics doesn’t dictate my like for the band, but in this case it definitely does. The song “Watching From a Distance’ is definitely my favorite Warning song, but TStD is depressingly perfect in my mind |
This is the station I got the job at:

Man, I can't believe I stopped listening to Electric Wizard to start listening to Hulk Hogan and the Wrestling Boot Band...
The strangest thing is, I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO IT. |
That's one of the greatest albums ever. Literally.
I know most of the words. What you need next is the Macho Man Randy Savage album. |
Ok, I managed to break its hold on me, and it's now in the garbage.
Replaced with some Weedeater. |
Weedeater rules.
|
I got my Vitus DVD in the mail today!!!!!!!!
DOOOOOOOOOM ON |
Anyone like Mammatus here? This album I just got is pretty groovin'.
|
Which album did you get? I'm listening to their self-titled right now and groovin' is a pretty good description of it.
|
Haha. I got their newest, The Coast Explodes. It's pretty awesome.
|
Can someone recommend me doom bands or albums with elements of piano/keyboard in their songs.
Some such examples are Estatic Fear and My Dying Bride. Thanks a lot. |

I leave behind me the ruins of the fortress I swore to defend; I leave behind me foundations; I'll leave you a man I'll need you to mend. And through all the battles around me I never believed I would fight. Yet here I stand, a broken soldier, Shivering, naked, in your winter light" Best lyics ever. Best song ever? - maybe. But I'm not really arguing because there's a danger that because Watching from a Distance is so amazing, people will forget about The Strength To Dream, and that would be a great shame because it's a fantastic album. |

that album rules |
I don't like Mammatus.

Crap yeah! |

:chug:
You're welcome. Enjoy.
Crap yeah!
You actually like them? A lot of people give them **** because of the gothic element, but I really enjoy their riffs and atmopshere. Plus the use of two vocalists works out pretty well, and that comes form a guy that normally doesn't like female vocals (in metal). I'm looking forward to their new release. They have samples on their myspace, sounding promising. :) |

Brilliant stuff. Yes they've been posted here before. |
And I like them.
Good combination of different styles. It sounds a bit like Tool playing doom. |
Actually that's a good way to describe them.
I love the song Rebirth especially, I have it on my myspace page. |
Have you discovered any new doom related stuff lately Luc? np: Primordial - The Song Of The Tomb |
The new Virgin Black is pretty cool, it's basically a My Dying Bride -esque death/doom album with a funeral doom edge.
I also got this band called The Foreshadowing, they're pretty good. My computer is basically dead so I haven't been able to really look for any new music. Next week I'm ordering parts and building a nice high end PC though. |
Nice.
I've heard you talking about Virgin Black a couple of times, they're from Australia right? Foreshadowing, never heard of the. New PC ftw! |
I believe so. They're sort of gothic/symphonic/orchestral doom usually, but their new album is really different. I like all their stuff though.
btw: http://www.myspace.com/theforeshadowing Oh yes and I also heard a nice sludge band called Dystopia. |
omg i love The Foreshadowing! i was trying to recommend them a lot a whiile ago on some of my lists but it seemed Balls was the only one that looked them up. very good band
