I have a soft spot for female fronted bands, but there's a TON that don't know how to write their own music. After Forever and Nightwish are a bit different at writing (plus, they've been around for a longer period than most), hence why I like them so much.

Yeah, I've done that with a few bands recently. Municipal Waste, Dungeon, AC/DC...

I listened to AC/DC on my comp for the first time in quite a few months. How very unaussie of me.

Dungeon always gets regular play from me.

I will never understand how people can stand AC/DC's vocals (both vocalists) :-p

True, but the band would be even worse without the horrid vocals. It goes well with the philosophy...everything is basic and balls out.

I don't know, I think I might enjoy the music more with better vocals. But I agree, the music is very simple.

Music is not bad at all for the style they play (which is not my cup of tea of course), but the vocals are just horrid...

I like Brian Johnson more. He reminds me of Udo from Accept...only worse.

I like Udo's Accept vocals, but I think Bon Scott was better than Brian Johnson. But, nobody [I]loves[/I] AC/DC's vocalists, it's just as Aussies we have a patriotic urge to plow through it anyway.

'70s classic rock, with bits of pop and punk thrown in. I'm sure you know the song Women In Uniform, famously covered by Iron Maiden. It's a Skyhooks original.
